Exceeded expectations. Very spacious, lots of pockets, and many designs to choose from! Good quality backpack, will definitely last multiple years.

This is MY go-to on a regular!! While most women rocks a purse or a clutch, I'm wearing a backpack ALL DAY!!! The purpose of this is a backpack holds much more than a pocketbook, I love the size, it's has plenty of compartments, the color which I love, and plus, in my opinion, JANSPORT makes quality backpacks. I wish they made more large backpacks in different colors though.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter who is in 4th grade. This backpack is one of the best I've purchased: well made, large capacity (holds 2 regular sized binders and lots of textbooks), has two very sturdy and padded straps that are contoured, a large padded pocket for ipad/laptop, smooth zippers, lots of small pockets, and the large H20 mesh pocket on the side. I never noticed the water bottle pocket on Amazon but that pocket is awesome! It holds her large sized water bottle without falling out! The fabric prints and colors are also very cute and bright! Would recommend.

Perfect for elementary schooler. It can store a lot which is great for when we travel but you have to keep an eye on weight because it can hold so much. Not a good shoulder width/ comfortable strap for adults. Lots of pockets, very durable.

This product is worth spending a little extra money for. It is durable and able to carry heavy loads without tearing of seams on the straps. The straps have thick padding to add comfort for the shoulders while carrying large heavy loads. The large compartments of the bag make for extra space to carry books or toys. The computer pocket is perfectly placed where it will lie flat against the wearers back. Highly recommended product!

So I have been using a messenger bag for the last year, but decided to switch back to a traditional backpack because my back has been killing me. As a grad school student I needed a bag with multiple compartments, and enough room for several heavy binders and books. I had this backpack when I was in highschool (go '04!), and I used to love it so I decided to give it a second go. I still have the old one but it's covered in Sharpie designs. Although I just got this bag in the mail today I can say a few things. Will update the post in a few months. 1. It has plenty of room! More than I remembered. I can easily fit my laptop sleeve, 2 binders, multiple notebooks, and other misc objects. 2. The zipper is currently annoying- it gets stuck on the inner lining, but I suspect this is because the bag is brand new. Over time I imagine everything will loosen up. 3. It is very lightweight- so you are not adding extra weight on top of all the junk you have to carry. 4. I am slightly disappointed that the material has changed from the older model. It feels a bit thinner, and the bottom of the bag isn't double lined to insure extra support for carrying heavy things, BUT the bag looks to be made well, and with the company promise I'll just request another if this one breaks. 5. The straps will need to be broken in for sure. They do have an internal padding for comfort, but it all feels stiff at the moment. 6. I chose the gray- which is pretty similar to the online description image so I'm pleased. Dark enough to hide dirt, but not another black bag added to the collection. 7. A main reason I liked this backpack back then was the pencil case that still is present in this one. It's right up front (top zipper) so I never felt like I was digging for something to write with. SO.. yes I do feel a bit dorky as this bag is clearly designed for a highschool student (not really stylish by any means), but I can already carry twice as much as my Patagonia messenger so I'm happy. JANSPORT! Could you possibly offer your bags without the large logo smack in the middle? I think the label defers interest.

I love JanSport. My kid LOVES this backpack and due to his rigid mindset he really overworked his backpack and I wasn't sure if it could be repaired. I looked around like crazy to find this pattern because he was VERY attached to it. JanSport was able to fix his old backpack and I now have an alternate so he is not with a backpack when one needs to be repaired or cleaned. Over time we have had zippers replaced/repaired, the water bottle pocket re attached/replaced, and center panel repaired/replaced. As a family we own six JanSport backpacks currently in rotation. This is not counting my oldest one; that one was handed down to my niece when she went to college. This was after having been through college and used as diaper-bag for two babies with me. We had only one JanSport ever fail to be able to be repaired and it was replaced with the newer model of the bag under warranty. JanSport are not the only backpacks we own. We have an assortment of drawstring backpacks as well most of them are trash that were giveaways, the only exception are two by Underarmor. For whatever reason their middle school decided that standard backpacks were unhealthy and only allowed drawstring backpacks. Yeah I agree it is stupid but... JanSport did not have a drawstring backpack at that time so I was forced to buy another brand. We also have two "light travel" backpacks the pack small for lightweight day-bags, and again we have them because JanSport does not make an equivocal bag. The only other backpack I have bought was when my little guy started kindergarten he desperately wanted a Mario backpack. That crappy bag only lasted the year and in first grade he had his first JanSport. He has had 3 JanSports. The one in first grade had a defect and was replaced. That replacement had the water bottle pocket come lose and need to be repaired. When his backpack was being repaired I let him mine and when the zipper got stuck he cut the zipper cover with scissors, making that his third backpack. I'm keeping the repaired one. The older child has had two JanSports and both are in the rotation (this one is his third). His first backpack he got in kindergarten and was replaced in high school when he would need to carry a chromebook/macbook and I wanted him to have the dedicated tech-pocket. I bought this one only because how attached he is to the pattern and as it is no longer in production I got it as a backup. I have two, because they are configured differently and they are useful. The newer one has a tech-pocket on the exterior and the older one has it on the inside of the main pocket. Honestly though I was in a stationary store not that long ago and I saw the backpack in brown and I am seriously thinking of getting one :) To be fair I do have some negatives about JanSport's current configuration I think there should be a water bottle pocket on both sides of the backpack like the older models do. I also like that the older model had a small zippered pocket on the top that was perfect for carrying glasses and given this is a tech bag having a spot for blue light glasses is not a bad idea.

I bought this backpack for my child starting jk because it’s very roomy for extra clothes etc. We only buy jansport because they last forever. This one is really nice with the desperate zippered laptop sleeve in the back. Obviously my 4 year old doesn’t need that but it would be perfect for older students too.
