Great fondant princess cake kit
My daughter loved making these cakes with me for her 4th birthday. Obviously, I helped a lot, but she could do a lot of it too. I think an 8+ year old could decorate them independently. Instructions were easy and clear and they turned out well. One thing to note: the kit only comes with one cake stand. Moreover, the doll torso/head is on a plastic stick that hooks into the stand. Without the stand, the stick is about an inch too long. I guess the maker believes the user will make one at a time, but we made both for the same occasion. I had to get creative, so I used a dinner roll and covered it in left over fondant to provide more height. It is fine for our purposes but not as sturdy as I'd like. I suppose you could also cut off the bottom of the plastic stick with bolt cutters, but then you can't use it later with the cake stand.Other suggestions: use your own cake mix and make frosting (none is provided). The included mix is not that tasty and it wasn't enough to fill the molds twice to the fill line. Next time I will fill above the fill line so I can cut more off and get it more level. I made a simple buttercream to help stack the cakes and provide a crumb layer for the fondant to cling to.Also, not surprisingly, the fondant is not as tasty as others you can buy (Wilton, Satin Ice, etc). But it was easy to work with and looks good. You only add a few teaspoons of water to the dry powder and mix. At first you might think you need to add more liquid, but don't. Just keep mixing and it will come together.I will make these again with box cake mix, my own fondant and I'll reuse the doll pieces and cake stand. The fondant cutters are so cute. I especially love the bow cutter and the flower press tool. For $25 this kit is a good value.

So much fun, some small modifications recommendations
We had a blast doing this. It was fairly easy for my 8 year old to do with some help from me. Made for a fun afternoon and daughter was so happy with the results. For us the amount of water it said to add to the fondant was too much. Ours ended up a bit sticky. I kneaded in some extra confectioners sugar and then it was fine though.Only other critique is that it would have been fun to be able to have both doll cakes at the same time but there is only one platform (cake stand) so we had to make them one at a time. We were just having fun making/eating these so it was totally fine for us but might be a problem if someone wanted to display both at a party.

Make amazing memories with the grandkids
My three year old granddaughter kept asking her Mom to make her the princess cupcakes she saw in a cupcake cookbook. We are no bakers by any stretch of the imagination. I found this kit on Amazon and puff! ...Grandma delivered. Grandma is the best! I panicked a little when I opened the box and didn’t find the instructions but it was tucked away in the box. The instructions were easy to follow. My three year old granddaughter was able to execute as I read her the instructions. She was so proud of herself. It came out great! I have been sending links to all my friends with little ones. I could hardly believe we made princess cupcakes that looked so good. I also love that there are refills available. We are planning a tea party with princess cupcakes next. Great product!

Fun & really easy pretty princess/fairy cakes
I bought this over Wilton's version because it just looked so much more up to date and honestly, because it doesn't look creepy at all. These pleasantly surprised me in that the dolls' faces look just as they do pictured on the box. I had my niece over and this was one of our "fun time with Auntie" activities. All the included tools are very sturdy. I really liked the roller (reminds me of the Joseph Joseph rolling pin I use). The cake you bake with the included mix tastes like a delicate vanilla muffin. The fondant is a marshmallow fondant and wasn't cavity inducing sweet (magic happens when you make the fondant!). Overall, a great purchase and can be used for baking with your little ones or even to decorate a sweets bar. Cleaning up was super fast and we made our green fairy cake in less than 30 minutes!

So easy so fun
I am no cook but this was easy. I did it with my 5 year old and she had so much fun. Don’t get tbsp and tsp mixed or you get watery fondant. It will crack placing it on the cake, just wet one of the tools provided, keep dipping in water and smooth out the cracks. Add extra wet fondant to fill the cracks and it will be nice.

A good base….but…
If you follow the instructions, it won’t turn out like the box! Needed much less water for the fondant. I added the full amount the first time and had to form it up with a lot of powdered sugar. I did about 1/2 for the second and it was better. Not enough cake mix for two. I added a cinnamon roll that we made from breakfast to the stack and carved it down for the look. Once all that was done the pieces works well.

This is awesome. The cakes are small so you don’t have a ton of junk. The icing would not congeal. For three hours my daughter and I tried to make it work. It just would not thicken. I had to run out and buy more. But in the end it was delicious. And my 4 year old loves helping. We also purchased as a gift for someone after receiving this one for Christmas. We liked that much

Great time on two separate daddy/daughter dates!
Lots of fun. Made each cake with my daughter over the span of more than a year. The second cake was made 17 months after the original purchase date and I was so pleased everything still tasted good. This was a great activity for me to do with my 4/5 year-old daughter. I’m sure that both of us will remember the time we spent doing it forever.
