The Jazz Fly (Jazz Fly series)

This book is so much fun. The story is imaginative and the music is very catchy. My students love it so much , they ask for it every time we work together. I highly recommend this book .

As a music teacher of PreK - 8th, I will admit I think I love The Jazz Fly as much, if not more, than my kids! My littlest students love the scat phrases, and it’s a great introduction to the jazz units I present later in middle school. The illustrations are beautiful, as well.

My 7 yr old grandson first learned about Jazz Fly in his music class at school. For days, it's all he would talk about it. So, I had to get it. LOL He loves it!

I use this story to introduce Jazz music to my elementary music students and they LOVE it!!! Truth is, I love it too. It has a story that is easy to follow, Great illustrations, references different instruments, and has that great catchy line that the kids say all together! I'm so grateful for the CD cause I wouldn't know how to say a lot of those jazzy words. The CD also has Jazz music before and after the story. The intro music we discuss what we hear and the music after the story we dance! Great for the classroom or home!

This book is so much fun! My son loves to listen to the cd and read along but we have a lot of fun reading it out loud at bed time too. It has a great rhythm to it so it's easy to get into. Very cute and fun story.

This was for a 4 year old who loves everything music.. It is a cd. The child is able to listen to it in the car. Mom says he loves it.

Grandma purchased this as a gift for my almost 3 year old and it's quite a hit!He loves the book, but the audio CD is a real treat! If it were up to him, we'd listen to nothing but The Jazz Fly CD over and over again whenever we're in the car!He sings along, and has decided he'd like to share his love of the book with his friends and has asked for permission from his teacher to bring it in to school next week!We'll definitely buy The Jazz Fly 2 at some point in the not-so-far future!

My little granddaughter loves to read and loves Jazz so what better gift to get her on the special occasion of her kindergarten graduation than a copy of The Jazz Fly. She absolutely loves the catchy, rhythmic flow of the story of the fly who "speaks jazz" and the other animals have difficulty understanding him. The accompanying CD makes the story really come to life as we listen the author reading along with the musical instruments. This is an enjoyable book for children and grandmothers alike!

Great story and very catchy jazz. I used it with K-Gr 5. Kids all loved it.
