It comes with a pad plate that the handle screws into. there are then several short handle lengths that can be added to create a long pole. I used it to wash my all wheel drive SUV and only needed two pole lengths. It reached across the roof very easily without need a ladder or stand (I am 5'9"). The pad has the usual loose fibers that spread and carry soak and water very well. The only problem I encountered was in trying to wash the wheels. The handle unscrewed from the pad plate and the pad came off of the pad (it's attached with an elastic band. I don't know how long it will last, the pole sections are very light weight and the plate (base is thin plastic. But it's definitely worth the price (it also came with mitts. I bought a separate mitt for $10 US that is much more absorbant and seems much more sturdy. But, as I said.
