The reviews on this item were mixed, but I am glad that I went ahead and took the chance on it. It has made keeping my hot tub chlorine level very simple. I simply add tablets once or twice a week and my hot tub is good to go. This is so much better than the expensive frog ease that I was using previously (and wasn’t working, which is why I started looking for an alternative to begin with!!)

THE BEST ACCURACY EVER!This is gonna be short, but I’m telling you guys I’ve bought about 10 different floats and none of them had enough accuracy for my small 200 gallon hot tub. This is the only one that allows me to close the airflow low enough for my Jacuzzi and it’s small enough.Don’t waste your time looking for a different one. I already did that.

Nice floater it works as it should small enough to not get in the way, but big enough to do the job.

Wished I would have purchased years ago - but who knew this would eliminate so much monitoring of my spa?In 2 weeks, this unit has consistently dosed the correct amount of chlorine. After I get out of hot tub, I have add the chlorine that is meant to go in “after”. However, this requires maintaining the correct amount of free chlorine to start.I took off 1 star because of directions. For example: It says something like 500 gallons = 1 1/2. It refers to numbers without units. What is a 2? 2 turns, 2 rings showing, is my unit supposed to be marked “1,2,3,4,5?”?My sauna is 350 gallons. So I closed the dispenser and barely opened it. I figured I would open it more if I found it wasn’t enough release. But it turned out to be perfect.I bought 1-inch Kem-Tec chlorine tablets to use with this item.Kem-Tek 177 1-Inch Chlorinating Tablets for Pool and Spa, 4-Pound

We had the frog. Used so much chlorine, always a problem. Switched to this for our hot tub works great!

I use this for our hot tub and highly recommend it. It makes keeping the proper bromine levels super easy. One thing I love is that how much of it is open to the water can be adjusted, which controls the rate that the bromine is released into the water(I'm sure it would work with chlorine as well), and thus helps set the equilibrium bromine levels for the system. When I first started using it I had to make one or two adjustments to get it to the level that I wanted, but now it is just right.It just makes the maintenance so much easier. One thing to be aware of is there is a sticker on the side that we didn't take off, and that was a mistake as it rubbed along the side of the hot tub and started disintegrating into the water. So make sure you take that off first, but that doesn't stop me from thoroughly recommending this product!

I actually break 3inch tabs into smaller pieces and use this floater. It's been the first one, out of several, that actually works.To dial it in, I first tightened the floater down so the floater was completely closed. I waited a day and checked my chlorine levels, hoping the chlorine was low or non-existent. Sure enough, after a day the chlorine was non-existent. From there I slightly opened the floater to allow more water into it and kept re-testing. I now have a perfectly calibrated floater that is very consistent on slow-releasing the chlorine. When I did this test with other floaters, the chlorine would still be high, even though the floater was completely closed.
