Acoustic Dreamland

Love this CD for preschool nap time! The songs are very relaxing and beautiful!

I bought this CD along with: Latin lullabies, instrumental dream land and daddy plays. Of the 4 this one is my favorite. I am about 5 months pregnant and searching for calming music to use during labor and delivery that I would also want as part of my baby's nightly routine. This CD is amazing! I absolutely love it. I listened to all 4 of the CDs immediately upon receiving them and of all of them this one just jumps out at me. It is the only one I still listen to. The lyrics are clear and crisp and gentle. They say the things that mommies and daddies the world over want to tell their babies every night. As your little one learns to talk I have no doubt they will request this CD because the lyrics make you feel happy while at the same helping you doze off. Every song is not just cutesy baby music but rather a repeated declaration of how much "I love you" and will always love you. Isn't that what we all want our babies to know? That we love them and that we will always love them? this CD does just that without pandering to "baby sounds" or baby voice. This is a CD of love songs from you to your baby.

I love most of the songs on this CD, though my only complaint would be that a couple of the songs come on unusually loud- like ten times louder than the rest of the CD. It woke my daughter up a few different times when I had the CD going during her nap so I stopped playing it for her at bedtime, but we love listening to it in the car and the songs are extremely relaxing and beautiful. Wonderful to play during "quiet time" or to soothe a fussy little one. I will often play it before my daughter goes to sleep and either turn it off before leaving her bedroom or turn it WAY down so that a couple of the songs don't get too loud. Overall very happy with this purchase! Will definitely be buying more Putumayo Kids tapes in the future.

I stumbled upon the Putumayo Kids' website by chance and began to browse their selections. My 9 month old baby girl and I--mostly I--had been having trouble sleeping through the night, as she has rediscovered the joys of skin to skin contact while she sleeps and she won't allow me to put her down in her crib. I was hesitant about the purchase, but after reading the reviews of Putumayo's Acoustic Dreamland, I decided to purchase. She was asleep by the time William Fitzsimmons told her that she "could close her eyes, it's alright," and a miracle occurred. . . she stayed asleep. Her tiny hands hadn't gripped my nightshirt for dear life, she let go. . . and went off to sleep. So, for all you on-the-fencers about the purchase (It's $15 for 30 minutes worth of music), I am here to tell you that it's worth it. Not to mention, you can listen to it over and over, and it doesn't make your want to scratch out your own eyeballs!

My daughter had trouble sleeping, so we tried having soothing music for her to calm down to. She has listened to this CD every night for 4 years! She loves it still, and so do we. The songs don't get old! It's a keeper. Highly recommend!

Best preschool nap time CD ever!!

Such an amazing collection of lullabies. Sung so beautifully. We have used it every night for my son since he was born.

I got this CD to use for naptime in my classroom of toddlers. The songs are lovely, except more than one song mention God in their lyrics. The children in my class all come from very different backgrounds and practice different faiths at home so this was really disappointing. I'll be looking for a different CD to use.

This was a gift for my 8 year old son. As a family we have other albums in this series and you can't go wrong if you want to listen to music from around planet earth. However on this ocassion this collection is mainly from english speaking artists and lots of country music style tracks. The biggest let down is that the album is only thirty minutes long!!! At full price that's abit poor. Having said that the tracks are all lovely and most of all my son loves this album and listens to it all the time!!

Perfect sleepy, relaxing music to gently help both you and your babies drift off to sleep. Not just for kids.

It wasn't quite as we expected.

I had to buy this disc as a replacement for the one I received as a gift when my son was born. The collection of songs are wonderful and lull my (now almost 3 yr old!) son to sleep at night.

Die Lieder auf der CD sind traumhaft schön. Habe sie mir für meine kleine Tochter gekauft. Sie liebt die CD! Kann mit der CD im Hintergrund viel besser einschlafen.
