SING ALONG WITH PUTUMAYO

I put this in the car today, and found myself hoping the traffic would be bad enough that I could hear all the songs. I absolutely love it. Another reviewer mentioned that the title "Sing Along" was misleading because the songs weren't familiar. That is what I love about this. If I hear one more rendition of Wheels on the Bus I might explode, no matter how innovative it might be. This album has some songs you might recognize (Love Train, Bananaphone, Old McDonald Had a Farm) as well as more obscure songs, but after two or three listenings, you'll be singing along to them ALL. I can't give enough props to the Old McDonald Had a Farm, because that is just delicious ear gold. Most of the songs have a folksy, bluesy, bluegrass, or soul feel. I keep adding Putumayo albums to my collection because they are well curated, and this one might be at the top of the list. Stop reading reviews and just buy it!

Picked up our very first copy in an out of way Children's store in New Hampshire, children one and two along with Mom and Dad enjoyed singing in the car.Children three and four are here and first copy went away. Hope whomever enjoys it as much as we did. All children and Mom and Dad wanted repeat performances as well as getting back to the sing-a-longs for those longer than Supermarket rides.Ages one to eight along with Mom and Dad!!!!!Five Stars!!!!!

I purchased this CD for the song "Bushel and a Peck". My grandmother and great grandmother sang this song to me and I in return sang it to my son. I did not even know it was a real song until I saw it on this CD. My son loves to dance to the music on this CD and I enjoy it,too. I cannot say that about very many children's songs!

This is a lovely, fun compilation featuring well known and forgotten classics with a twist and energy. Michael Row Your Boat Ashore and I will be your friend are so beautiful and uplifting. Red Robin will have your little one dancing. This is good music the whole family can enjoy. Not that cheesy toddler music!

I bought this CD a few months ago and listen to it a lot in the car with my 5, 3, and 1 year old children. It has great variety in the genres of the music - some very jazzy, some more bluesy. My kids especially love the Belly Button Song, but they are all terrific and not ones that you find on other kids' CDs. Also, although it's "international" all the songs are in English.

Love Putumayo! we have nearly 20 of their childrens cd's, they never disappoint. We've been able to introduce our children to a world of different cultures through their music and rhythm. Fun never ends with these collections! This one is no exception, great tracks, my kids listened to the whole thing twice before bed yesterday dancing along the whole time!

A fabulous CD, full of good songs well, but differently, played/sung. Great while riding in the car, including sing-alongs. This CD reminds me of the old "Electric Company" show on PBS, which lured Mom and (this) Dad into watching with the kids because the interest and humor were so rich.

I'd say that these are songs you wouldn't necessarily sing along to until you've heard them SEVERAL times which, of course, you will, if children are in charge of the music selection. While all the songs aren't the standards you'd expect from a typical singalong CD they ARE great. Another solid Putumayo offering.

lovely songs - our favourite children's singing CD

i first discovered putamayo when a friend gave us 'folk playground' for one of the children, the cd's are a great change from the normal nursery rhymes and we constantly have them on for any car journey. the whole family love them!

Brilliant CD, it's never off in the car. Parents will love it as much as the kids.

Bought this CD on Amazon after seeing it at a friend's house. My son has loved it from the age of 8 months. He bounces along to the music whenever I switch it on - bopping and clapping. Personal favourites are Bananaphone, Bushel & a Peck and Bling-Blang. They're all so upbeat and happy. Some of the jazzy tunes are perhaps a bit obscure for little people, but the words are easy to hear and great to sing along to.A really worthwhile purchase.
