Very enjoyable mystery
November, 1815 has arrived and Jane Austen is staying in London with her brother Henry. She has been invited by the chaplain to His Royal Highness the Prince Regent to tour Carlton House and especially the library. In the library they discover a dying man, a Colonel MacFarland. Events lead Jane to discover a map. But a map of what.An entertaining and enjoyable well-written cozy mystery

Another Great Book in the series
I always enjoy this series and the latest didn't disappoint. Barron is able to wend a mystery into Jane's daily life in ways believable to the reader. It feels real. My big disappointment is only that I can't download the earlier novels in this series. It's very odd that they aren't available in digital, or at least not Australia.

Five Stars
Thoroughly enjoyed another Jane mystery. I love how the author weaves historical events into the books!

last book in series
I actually don't know that it is the absolute last in the series, but it has been more than a couple of years and Stephanie Barron has moved on to writing about Churchill's mother.I found this series about 20 years ago, and loved them. I was reading a lot of Austenesque books, just trying to assuage my thirst for more of her books. Some are horrid (even with with good reviews, they RUINED my beloved characters), some are a little eyebrow raising. This series--I sometimes forget that the protagonist is not really Jane Austen. I like the little historical footnotes throughout the story, and the style seems to be the right period.I do think the latter books are better written than the earlier books, but please remember I was younger too when I first read them. There were only 2 books out when I discovered them, and looked out for a new book every year. I wish that they had stayed in the same format so that they could all reside on the same shelf without having that jagged tooth look. The last 2 have not been in mass market format, while the earlier books were only in that format. For those who like reading books written from this English Period, I think you will like these. Even if you are not a mystery reader. If you are and you do, AND you have not discovered them yet--try Carrie Bebris' books where Darcy & Elizabeth solve mysteries. The earlier books have a paranormal slant, but the latter books not so much. That series too, unfortunately, appears to have completed its tenure.
