Vit B12 is essential for life and health as it plays a key role for the normal functioning of our brain, nervous system, the formation of our blood, cardiovascular health, the metabolism of our cells, DNA synthesis and regulation, as well as fatty acid synthesis. We may all be deficient in B12, as deficiency is caused as much or more by poor absorption as it is by low intake. If you are a strict vegetarian or vegan, remember to eat breads, cereals, or other grains that have been fortified with vitamin B12. Or you can supplement orally or transdermally.
