Fun, Quick and Functional Nerf Gun Build
As someone who has built dozens of high-end LEGO kits, I know how official LEGO pieces assemble. I'm also attuned to the way official LEGO instruction manuals are written and designed, the graphics, the steps. the breakdown into separate, logical, numbered bags. The final product is also important - how the item looks, feels and operates. In the end, this product - although it's absolutely not an official LEGO product - absolutely built exactly like you'd expect a LEGO kit to build.First off, the kit came in a nice, sealed box, with proper labeling on the outside. It always makes me feel confident when a company is willing to put their name on the box. Thank you. When I opened the box, it had two labeled bags - 1 and 2 - and the instruction manual. The instruction manual looked almost exactly like any other official LEGO building manual, which is the style I'm used to working with. The first bag contained the first section's pieces - and also another bag inside with the smaller pieces. You open those up, dump them in the box so you don't lose any, and follow the directions step-by-step. When you're done with the first section, you have half a NERF pistol. Rinse and repeat with the second section. Boom, done.I feel like this was a shorter build, at 222 pieces, but I also realize that a NERF pistol needs to have multiple pieces that are larger, for stability. You'll notice that as you start to build, there's a central "skeleton," and as you start to build it up, it becomes stronger, with a shell around the outside. Very nice. The NERF pistol operates with a doubled-over "rubber band," and they even give you a spare band, which I appreciated. Not only were there no pieces missing, but there were extra pieces. I'd much prefer to have extra, than not enough. In the end, the NERF pistol worked exactly as expected, and it shoots the safer NERF-style bullets. I probably should have said "NERF-style" throughout this entire review, because I'm fairly certain this isn't an official NERF weapon. That's fine. It's pretty, it works, and someone did a very good job of designing this.It feels pretty stable and, although I would never use a brick-built weapon beyond testing it a few times (it does feel like it would break - like ALL brick-built items - LEGO or not), it is functional.Overall, this was a fun, albeit short build, and I would enjoy seeing other kits from this manufacturer. If I didn't know from the packaging that this wasn't an official LEGO product, it would be hard to tell. The pieces are high quality, the manual is well-written, and the final product looks good. At this price, it's an exceptional value. Just make sure you play safe with the NERF bullets - they shoot fairly far.

Works!
This was easier than I thought it would be to build. It's very stable and sturdy build. The only issue that I had was that the rubber band that allows the firing mechanism to move would not stay in place as it would slip between the cracks in the pieces and become dislodged making it unable to fire. When it did fire however the mechanics worked very well and I was surprised at the distance

Fun for adults too!
My son-in-law, daughter and I started getting into these Nerf and water gel battles. Nerf for indoors...and needless to say, this little pistol is fun to carry around the house, up and down stairs, and to lie in wait around corners. I would give it 5 stars except it did take a while to assemble, and it's a bit of a drag loading the gun single foam bullet at a time. Even a ratcheting clip would be better with a slide action chamber. But I understand the limitations of a building block toy. Still, I feel they could have made one of those two things, slightly better. Over all, a fun toy!

Fun build!
This was a fun build. The pieces are of good quality and fit well together. It shoots about as expected. My son gets a kick out of it too.

had to take it apart to fix it multiple times.
i followed directions perfectly and it was off. took it apart and fixed it finally got it. ammo sticks. pretty sure the darts for it need to be stretched a bit cause they stick. it works but you have to fix the darts. cool how it works though. slide pulls back. pretty slick actually. recommend - yeah, you have to open up the dart ammo a bit so they don't stick.

Fun and it functions!
I really enjoyed this building kit! The instructions were clear. The kit functions correctly when finished and is fun to use. The kit came with plenty of darts and this will be getting lots of use during Nerf wars. I anticipate that it will hold up well; it seems durable enough for extended amounts of play.

Awesome!
I'm a huge fan of Lego Technic and Technic compatible sets. I was pretty excited to get this, because it introduced a new e-x-o-t-i-c piece: the NERF-shooter!The NERF piece is new and unique to my set. It's one big solid state piece, but works well. Shoots pretty far / quickly too!The box was nondescript, but the manual was full color and all. The build process went by pretty quickly, an was easy to do.The only issue I had with this set was the rubber-bands used. Notice, that the actual firing mechanism uses a spring that's embedded inside it. However, the kit also includes rubber-bands that are used to return the top slide-assembly back after setting the gun.Following the instructions as they are shown, leaves the rubber-bands included too loose, so it doesn't really work.So I definitely recommend twisting the bands to half size to give them more tension.Overall, pretty cool and unique set. Glad to have in my collection.

Neat but fragile
This is a neat set to build, but once assembled it's pretty hit or miss that it will come apart in several places when you pull the slide back.It also doesn't shoot very far.
