We use these when rearranging logs in the fireplace or adding new ones, they definitely block out the heat, super good quality, you will not be sorry with this purchase. The material feels high quality, the fit is good, and they are very heat resistant. I use them for BBQ, but they're thick enough that I imagine that they would be good welders gloves too.
