A nice book to better understand and help the young.
I see that the review of this book in general is not as favorable as mine. I stand to my review. Martini shows a very profound and sympathetic attitude to youth and its struggle to find a transcendent meaning to life. At the same time he shows much understanding of the young people's problems. But he is serious and tries, at the same time, to understand and encourage them and to demand much from them. An excellent book for anyone interested in helping the young to find their way through the snarls of this life.

One of the Church greats
A man of sensitivity and compassion, an excellent analysis of the difficulties within the Church, but also suggestions for the way forward.

Good insights into the future of the church
Many helpful ideas especially how to involve the youth in the life of the church. At times a bit stilted and forced but practical

Relevance of the Church for tomorrow
Discusses Cardinal Martini's views on making thr Catholic Church relevant in the modern world. He and Pope Francis are fellowJesuits. The cardinal used to be a candidate for pope (i.e. a papabilis). The book gives a good insight into present day Catholicism. Recommended reading.

Not the bombshell I expected
The Cardinal was a nice man, I’m sure, but deeply infected with modernism to the point that what he advocates has less to do with salvation in Jesus Christ and more to do with liberation theology and the broad acceptance by the Catholic Church of sexual perversion as a value. The Church should evangelize the culture, not assimilate its false “gospel”. Martini is the mentor of Pope Francis and we can see his influence on full display in the Church today. God help us.
