They are pretty little, but I intended to use them for ...
I bought two of these for my girls' lunches. They are pretty little, but I intended to use them for milk, so I was seeking a small thermos. If your child drinks a lot and you are using this for water, it will work for a younger child, but probably won't hold enough water for older kids. But for milk, it's a great size. My younger daughter is on the verge of under weight, so I need to send her with full fat milk, and reducing the amount of waste we produce by not using individual milk cartons is also great. For my older daughter, I do sometimes send it with ice water because she doesn't drink that much water (to my dismay) and she reports that it stays cold until her lunch time 5 hours after I pack her lunch. The ombre colors are really cute with just a little shimmer. We've been using them for a couple of months and no leaks, no broken parts, and no weird parts that are hard to wash or trap gunk (which is a problem I read about in a lot of other brands when I was deciding what to buy), the lock mechanism keeps it from opening in the lunch bag or backpack and yet when the lock is disengaged it's easy for my kindergartner to open. As long as these last a reasonable amount of time, I'd definitely repurchase.

Great for purchase
This cup/thermos is wonderful for my kids. Easy to open and clean. Keeps their drinks cold for hours. Wasn't as big as I expected. Only complaint is that the lid isn't very durable. Both my koea drop theirs cups and a piece od their lids broke off and then they leaked.

Small/portable for lunch boxes; comes open easily
This is the perfect size for lunch boxes and keeps ice for up to 24 hours, BUT the lock on the lid slides off too easily. I’m glad all we use it for is water because we’ve had some major mishaps with the lock on the lid. It’s very small so I wouldn’t use it for all day, but if they have other things to drink, or are using it for a short bike ride or something it’s great for young kids. Would also be great to store hot foods if your thermos is too big. We will still use it again for school next year, but I’ll make sure the lock is secured and turned against the inside of the holder where the lock can’t be bumped.

faulty & dangerous
The lids to these water bottles are faulty and dangerous. I ordered this bottle thinking it would be great for my daughter who just broke her arm it seems easy to open and drink from without much effort. But after the first time opening the lid to drink from the hinge came loose and exposed both wire and screws which actually cut her hand.We ordered a replacement from amazon in hopes the first experience was a fluke but within the few days the product did the same exact thing. Please think twice if you are ordering this item for a young child my daughter is 9 and it cut her hand fairly badly. When I tried to put the screw and hinge back in place the plastic broke its brittle and cheap with no actually quality to this product. Amazon was difficult when refunding this product, they have no compassion for how dangerous this little product actually is and wanted me to continue to handle this product in order to get a refund. Please parents beware of this product!

I love this purchase!!!
I am so in love with this purchase! The size is perfect for my toddler to hold and use alone. Summer where we live is super hot so buying this was a NEED! It keeps her drinks cold for hours. This cup is also good for winter which will be nice if i made hot cocoa. The durability is great we’ve dropped it a few times and theres no chip or damage done to the cup.The colors are beautiful, it even has a little sparkle mixed in the paint!Super easy to clean!Has a lock on the cup, i just had to teach my toddler how to lock and unlock. But its easy!I definitely recommend this hydro flask to other parents with young children. I have zero complaints!

lasted less than 2 weeks
This water bottle was bought as part of our back to school supplies. My 7 year old LOVED the look of it, that it didn't have a straw, and kept her water cold. I loved that it truly didn't leak and was easy to clean. However before school even started she dropped it and the flip top broke at the hinge...very disappointing so we went with a different water bottle to replace it. If you get this, handle with care!

Mom's Breakfast
I love this little thermos! I use it and two more for my Mom's water, juice, and milk for breakfast every morning. They will keep things cold overnight. I set up the water with a couple of ice cubes the night before. The milk and juice containers I put in the freezer overnight (without the tops) and put cold juice and milk in them early in the morning for her breakfast some hours later. It is easy for her to open and use. They are somewhat difficult to clean, in that two rubber pieces must be removed for handwashing and replaced. Since I have them color-coded with their contents, I just rinse them well daily without removing the gaskets. Once a week I remove the gaskets using a small spreader to give them a more thorough cleaning. It is a bit tricky to get the lid on tight. I find that holding the lid level and spinning the bottle, sitting on the counter, up into it works best. It doesn't work to force them--easy does it. If the rim of the top doesn't touch the bottle all the way around I take it apart and start again. If the rim is touching all of the ways around it will not leak. Don't fill the bottle above the base of the neck. It won't seal if you overfill it.There are tiny pins holding the top of the lid to the bottom, and securing the push-button opening mechanism. I watch to make sure that the pins aren't starting to come out. When they do (and they will!), just use small needle-nose pliers or another small tool to push the pin back in place. I'm sure it would be difficult if not impossible to replace a pin if it came entirely out.The use of this small thermos has made it possible for my Mom to independently get breakfast and saved me from being available all morning.
