I kept on pining for my vintage Braun immersion blender that was so old it didn’t have safety prongs for the plug in. It was lost in a move and I complained about it for seven years, and tried to buy a replacement that failed. It was fancy branded, expensive, heavy, awkward and bulky to use. I finally decided to take the plunge and try another immersion blender. For my purposes (puréed soup) it is hands down the BEST immersion blender I’ve ever used. It knocked the Braun off the shelf. I made a potato soup base (potatoes and onion simmered in stock and water) with added milk, crisp-tender broccoli, and grated cheese. As opposed to the awkward blender dance, I was able to purée the soup in the soup pot (took about 3 minutes for a quart and a half) and it was so smooth and creamy! the texture was unbelievable as well as the ease of use. Simple toggle switch for speed 1 or 2. Love the detachable base for storage, cleaning, safety. Love it, love the value, price, and effectiveness. A winner in the kitchen.

When I have used other immersion blenders, I have noticed that some designs are more prone to SPEWING the liquid that they are blending all over the kitchen if you accidentally raise the blending head just a little bit too far out of the liquid. In my experience, I think that this blender seems to be designed in such a way as to minimize that problem. I think it probably has to do with the deep-bell shape of the blade cover. It contains a powerful motor, and the instructions say to use it only for one-minute intervals with breaks in between use. If you are using this for smoothies or small-batches of something it will work fine. I definitely notice that even when I use mine for these "within-the-time-limit" purposes, the motor does get very hot. I use a different brand of blender for making soups or things that need to be blended for a longer time. This one is really great for the purposes I've mentioned, was very inexpensive compared to other models, and even though the main connectoions between motor and blending shaft are plastic, they mesh well and work fine! I will also add that the design of this product's blade assembly is very simple and very easy to keep clean. Usually, in blenders of this kind, there is a rubber seal in an area right around the top of the rotary blade. In other blenders, this feature is sometimes designed in a complicated way that creates some folds in the rubber. With these tpes of blending heads, It can be very frustrating to keep them really squeaky clean and free of old food buildup, which can be disgusiting. This model has just a tiny rubber gasket around the top of the blade, so there are no complicated rubber shapes to work around. Cleaner. Better. Safer.

This is very effective for my face creams, body lotions and other blends. Its power and speed options ensure I have quality products with a smooth texture. It was beneficial enough that I immediately returned to purchase a second for double batches. I highly recommend!
