It works!
I am so very pleased with this product. I have a half acre lawn at my second home, and I was spending a lot of money paying a landscaping service to mow the lawn. I'm not here for chunks of the mowing season so mowing myself wasn't an option, and anyway this cost less than a sit down mower. Just the fact that it works at all is amazing to me, and is a testament to an incredible piece of engineering. Well done team Husq! Is some part of my 5* review due to the fact that I like gadgets? Yes it is. My neighbors are all jealous as hell. If I had it to do over I'd probably pay to have someone install it. It isn't particularly hard, but it took some time and there is a learning curve. I didn't have to mess around much after I finally got the ground wire in. I'm pretty technically comfortable, but if you have doubts it would be nice to have someone get it running for you. There is a lot of good YouTube content to help if you do it yourself. The software is pretty straightforward. One major issue I had to solve is that my home is remote and has no cell service, so I also had to put in an LTE network extender. It would be nice if it could work directly from Wifi in addition to a cell network, but I can see why they chose the cell network. I get additional utility from the LTE network extender (phones work) so it isn't a problem. My yard has some significant slopes as well as a culvert, and the mower has no problems at all. The ability to run the guide wires to difficult to reach sections is well considered. I have a chunk of lawn that goes through about a 6 foot gap and the mower finds its way back there every now and again. One minor note is that this mower DOES NOT work like a traditional mower where once it passes over a section of lawn you get a nice uniform length cut. At first I was wondering if the rotor was even spinning. But from an engineering standpoint it makes sense. There is a very light spinning rotor with 4 very small retractable razor blades. There isn't a lot of kinetic energy so if your mower runs over something it isn't ruined. The mower needs to be running considerably more often to keep your lawn tended. but who cares, you are not doing the mowing! You need to tune the number of hours per day the motor is running to keep your lawn nice while not putting too much wear and tear on the lawn. But the end result is your lawn always looks really nice and is more or less always the right length. Now the only question is how many years of service will I get out of it? As long as it makes it past 2 summers I'll continue to invest in this technology.

Setup takes some time and effort. But it is TOTALLY worth it.
I'll start with the negative: set up is a pain, especially if you have a large oddly perimetered yard with lots of interior obstacles like I do. In hindsight, I should have rented an EZ trench from the Home Depot to lay the wire instead of doing it by hand and using the stakes they give you. Also, if you're installing the perimeter in the winter, the stakes are very brittle when cold, they'll shatter if you just try to hammer them in, so be aware of that. Also, if you're laying some 500+ ft of wire, you're going to have a broken wire somewhere at some point in this project and finding where it is broken will drive you to tears unless you go ahead and buy yourself a VXSCAN F04 or similar, also a tool worth the money. The app (Android) is, well, a little bit flakey. It is clear Husqvarna is better at lawn equipment than phone apps. My girlfriend installed the app on her iPhone, and it seemed to work better. The wUnderground feature doesn't seem to work, as the mower (we named her Daisy) goes out happily, rain or shine. It is not at all uncommon to look out the window to see pouring rain and the mower happily rolling across the middle of the lawn. You'll probably find places in your yard where the mower's going to consistenly hang a wheel and get stuck. Fill the hole, adjust the landscaping or adjust the perimeter wire to address that issue, all part of the install in my view. OK, with the not-so-positive out of the way, once this thing is set up properly, the joy of propping my feet up and sipping a cold beverage while Daisy almost silently trims the lawn all day, every day, is PRICELESS. It is hard to overstate how quiet this thing is, like, the loudest part about it is the literal clipping of the grass blades. There is almost no motor noise - at first I didn't think the blades were spinning because it is so quiet. And while she doesn't do a PERFECT job, the 5 minutes it takes me to whiz the trimmer around the yard to trim the fence and around the trees and such basically feels like a victory lap. Also this thing is a bit of an attention-getter. I've had conversations with neighbors I've never otherwise met just because they want to ask questions about it. I've seen people stop their cars driving by the house, throw it in reverse and back up just watch it cut the front lawn. In summary, setup is a PITA. But the joy of seeing this thing work silently all day every day and the perfect height lawn that results makes me wonder why they're not more popular. Good job Husq - work out the minor bugs and I expect these thing to take over the suburbs.
