I used these boxes to install new light sconces onto the front of my garage where fixtures/wiring didn't exist. They came packaged well and the boxes are MUCH better than the blue ones you can get at any box store. They are pretty stout plastic and with the screws, they make it easy to mount them in existing construction without having to make a larger hole than you need.I do recommend taking the screws out and running them in from the outside of the box in before attempting to final mount the box . . If you just try to screw them in, there is quite a bit of resistance from the tough plastic. So by running it in first, it kinda threads the box and allows it to thread easily once you actually mount the box.

This electrical box was just what I needed. It securely fastens to the frame from inside the box minimizing the amount of cutting I had to do in the siding and particle board. The J-box cover piece fit this electrical box perfectly so the whole assembly blended very well with the existing vinyl siding and securely hold the NEMA 6-20 socket I installed in it. The wiring went through the back of the box easily (15 Gauge) and gives me a very sturdy setup for my EV charger.

I moved my electric dryer and needed to move the 220 outlet. I found a stud, cut a hole in the drywall, pulled the wire and then screwed the box to the stud. It is very solid and easy to use. The cable glands were a bit small for 10-2 w/g, but I made it fit.

Great box for new or existing construction. Rewired my house, and used these after removing all the old / original wiring from 1960's. They work well because original boxes were on studs, but its impossible to hammer on a standard new-work box without opening more drywall, and cant use remodel box on a stud due to sheetrock tabs hitting stud. These work great for places you cant fit a hammer on new stuff ,and allow you to remount/ reuse same hole in sheetrock for remodel / re work.

I prefer these boxes over the blue boxes with ears. These boxes mount solidly. These well-constructed electrical boxes are my go to boxes for remodeling.

The mounting system, as described, is done via a screw mounted inside the box which operates at about a 30 deg angle to the attachment surface. Strongly recommend screwing the mounting screws in and out a couple times to loosen up the hole before attempting the final mounting. The friction contributed by a virgin screw, when combined with the awkward angle and the resistance from whatever the screw is being driven into (eg, a 2x4) is enough to make it extremely difficult to keep the screwdriver from slipping.

Screws are angled and drive easily into the stud. Way more sturdy than the type that tabs flip out
