A Beginner's Song Booklet for the 16 String Lyre-Harp

When I created this booklet, almost three years ago, there were no 16 string lyre-harp song books (or instructional books) on desertcart (or any other platform that I could find), and now there are at least a dozen. In the past few months, I have discovered another lyre harp songbook that has taken my methodology using string to note relationship and extended it to more songs and more varieties of lyre-harps; in addition, she has included instructions for playing, tuning, and caring for your lyre-harp. That author is Lena Eckhoff, and the book is called Lyre Harp Songbook: 60+ Songs for easy Lyre Harp . I purchased a copy and highly recommend it, especially for beginners. On that note, I will be removing my booklet from publication effective August 6, 2025 (it's third anniversary). I want to thank everyone who has purchased my booklet and discovered the joy of learning to play a 16 string lyre-harp. An easy start for those who can't read music
This book is just what I needed. I had a harp/lyre but couldn't read music - but Melanie solved that for me. With the help of her annotated scores I am slowly learning to play and read. I can thoroughly recomend this book, please do some more!

Best book for new Lyre players
Hi Melanie, I loved your preface regarding receiving your Lyre, I did exactly the same. As you said there is nothing out there to notate Lyre music, I trawled the internet for weeks, I was so glad to come across your book.

Great for complete beginners
As a complete beginner who is only just learning to read music, I found this little book a great starting point for learning the 16 strong lyre. As lyre music is hard to find I found it helpful to have this book just to get me started.

Je suis très déçu du contenu. L'auteur aurait dû demander les services d'un musicien pour écrire les partitions (Anacrouses absentes, morceau en 6/8 écrit en 3/4: catastrophe!

Great for beginners
This book was created by a beginner, for beginners. It provides the notes for playing in 3 ways: standard musical notation, by string number, and by note letter. I was able to play a Christmas carol right away. I recommend this for beginners on a 16-string lyre.
