I started with burlap and the holes were way to big. I was concerned this product would be more similar to monks cloth (which has smaller holes making it hard to tuft) but it wasn’t. This was my very first time tufting and I was able to make this rug in 2 hours without any holes. It got super tight on the frame which is a necessity in making rugs. Other companies sell tufting cloth for a higher price point but this was cheap and worked great.
