Save and get a proper light
The light worked then it cut off and got a mild burning smell from it. Thought it would have been an ideal fit but nope.

This light was perfect for indirect lighting
We have a podcast and this light was perfect for indirect lighting in our scenario. It was a great acquisition, for the functionality and great cost benefit. I recommend it to everyone.

Great light, poor mounting options
The light is pretty awesome, brighter than I expected with many options for changing color/pattern. The remote only works when pointed at the back of the unit, which is a bit annoying. There is no real stand or support included that supports the light, for the price point, I would hope for more mounting options included in the box.

Has to be plugged in to work - not battery powered; music function works weirdly
Got this to help with taking photos in a dark house but that is not its strong suit. In the first photo I used the regular overhead light. In the second one I used the white light from this unit. Not an improvement. It does have cool modes like “disco” and “candlelight” that could be used for mood lighting. It also does get very bright.Keep in mind that it has to be plugged in to work. There either isn’t a battery or it doesn’t work in my unit. The instructions call the usb c slot a “charging port” but it doesn’t charge. The music function I tested with my phone playing music and it works, sort of. However I would expect it to react to the bass not the more treble registers like it did. And it goes dark between color changes so it’s basically dark flashing colorful lights every once in a while.

A great light with a ton of uses
My husband has been using this, and he wrote the following:The light came packaged in a relatively thin cardboard box with thick custom fit foam inserts. I am not sure if the box would hold up to long term storage or transportation but the foam insert would help if you chose to do that. The light and bracket are made from durable aluminum and have a sturdy professional feel. The 5.1 inch light has a threaded bezel, which, I assume, is for attaching filters of some sort, though I can’t imagine what you would attach to a light that produces any color. I’m sure a professional would know. The kit comes with the light, mounting bracket, remote control, USB A to C power cable, wall adapter, and instructions. Initially, when I saw the USB cable, I thought it might be rechargeable. I know the listing does not make that claim, but I am just used to USB charged devices. The unit needs to be plugged in to operate. The instructions cover all of the functions and operation in a clear and simple way. The controls on the light itself are simple and straightforward, three buttons on the back for 1) power on/off, 2) light mode, and 3) sound reactive mode (described below). The light mode button cycles through the four main colors, and all of the effects modes. In the center of these buttons (which is also the center of the housing) is the IR receiver for the signals from the remote. The remote itself gives the user an incredible amount of control over the light. It controls power, brightness, 20 fixed colors, hue adjustment, saturation adjustment, gradual color changing, mode shift, flash frequency adjustment, and eight individual buttons that go directly to a particular effects mode. With such specific controls, you can pretty much make the unit produce any color you wish. The effects modes are a lot of fun. I can definitely see where this would be an absolute fantastic item for a DJ. The sound reaction or “music” mode reacts to any and all forms of sound, even speech and the fixed, steady colors are quite excellent for still photography. Whether you need a cool looking backdrop for your model, fun lighting for your video, or just need to adjust the coloring of your subject by external means, this will work great.All-in-all. I think this light is really awesome and expect to get some good use out of it. I would definitely recommend.

A great light with just 1 complaint "the remote is not reactive"
The media could not be loaded. I started to get into Making videos At home. There's just so many options Didn't know where to start. Also I figured if I only have one light to start out why not Start with one that does it all. Lots of colors lots of modes. So far so good. I just have one complaint that's really really frustrating. The remote does not always respond to my touch. This is something that is aggravating me I do not know if I'll get used to it or if I'm doing something wrong but I read the directions and I seem to be doing everything right. Even with all that I'm happy with it But if the remote worked great would be 5 stars in my opinion. I made a video to show you.
