Useless after less than 6 months
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this cap November 2022. It stopped working February 2023. The cap will not sanitize. It's is useless at this point. You can see from the video the cap is charged (green light after 1 tap) but it will not sanitize after 2 taps (should be blue but turns red instead). The company has reviewed this same video And wants me to pay $15 shipping to get a new cap for their defective product. I could see paying for shipping if the cap were greater than a year old. But it's not. There are better and less expensive products on Amazon that have better charging cables and simply work! Avoid this product!

A Game Changer for Clean and Tasty Water on the Go!
My partner and I both decided to try out this UV water bottle lid, after seeing the concept for a UV bottle on Shark Tank. We have a UV light as part of our whole-house filtration system, so it instantly made sense to have it on our water bottles (as they can get funky fast). We've been using these lids for almost a year now, and one of the first things that struck us was the impressive battery life. The fact that it lasts a little over a week on a single charge is a huge plus for us. It's so convenient not to have to worry about constantly recharging it.But the real magic happens when it comes to the taste of the water. We were genuinely surprised by how much of a difference this lid makes. The water tastes amazing, and it's a game-changer, especially when we're filling up our bottles from different sources while traveling. What truly sets this UV lid apart is the affordability and flexibility it offers. Instead of shelling out big bucks for an overpriced UV water bottle, you can simply buy this lid and attach it to your existing bottle (if it's on the list of ones that it fits of course). It's a brilliant concept that not only saves you money but also reduces waste. In our case, all the UV bottles on the market were a bit pricy and small as we prefer a larger bottle. So, we bought this lid and a large Hydro Cell water bottle to put it on.In summary, we highly recommend this UV water bottle lid. It has exceeded our expectations in terms of battery life, water taste, affordability, and flexibility. It's a fantastic addition to our daily hydration routine, and we couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Tummy tested but a little leaky and hard to clean
If youre looking at this get it. Ive sent at least 5 of these to friends. They are the best for travel. My partner and I traveled around South East Asia for a year using this for filling up drinking water from taps and never once got sick from the water. It is expensive, but it quickly pays for itself. The charge lasts about a week for two people. The biggest bummers are small - it is not a perfect seal and the gasket gets moldy and is difficult to clean.

Great idea but unreliable
The WAATR HydroCap is a great idea, but I've found it to be unreliable and I wouldn't depend on it without a backup for safe drinking water. I've been using the cap for several weeks on a trip to South America where rain water is a common source of tap water in homes. I’ve been using the HydroCap with a stainless steel HydroFlask bottle so I can purify water for drinking without relying on bottled water. Frequently when trying to start the purification process, the cap will flash red three times and not turn on. Apparently, this is part of a safety system to prevent the cap from being used when it’s not attached to a bottle. I’ve found that if I fill the water bottle about halfway OR to within a few mm of the bottom of the cap. But it often takes me 3 or 4 tries to get the water level exactly in the right place for the cap to work. I tried contacting support twice but after filling out a return authorization form at their request, I haven’t heard back.

$80 and the charger barely works.
I have been an avid user of original CrazyCap and the CrazyCap 2. They weren't perfect but I loved the concept and wanted to support the company. When I saw that they had rebranded to "Waatr" and released a new product called Hydrocap that would fit wide mouth bottles, I was very excited as one of my main issues with the earlier models was that the maximum bottle size you could use was a 17oz Cola-style bottle. So I decided to invest in the Hydrocap despite the extremely high price tag, telling myself that the company must have really come out with an amazing product. But instead what I've received is a pretty cheaply made product, made with plastic instead of the stainless steel of the earlier models. But the main issue is the charger. The earlier models already were pretty finicky when it came to the wireless charging function, sometimes knowing when they were being charged, sometimes not; sometimes showing full battery (glowing green) when the charger was connected, and sometimes actually charging. You had to find the "sweet spot" position (kind of like positioning an old TV antenna) until the charge started to flow, and then it would charge for a few minutes and start glowing green again as if charged, when really it wasn't. But at least you could kind of get it to charge most of the time and still use your cap. With the Hydrocap I received, the charging is even less functional. I put it to charge in my bedroom at night and as I was falling asleep I noticed that instead of the orange pulsing glow that means "charging," it would all of a sudden flash green, then even blue, then back to orange. More like a disco tech than a charger. The wireless connector is very finicky and even unreliable. It will pop off very easily as the magnets are not strong at all. And when connected it will decide if it wants to glow green or orange depending on its mood.Very disappointed in this new product, especially for its high price tag. Hopefully the company will fix these issues soon as I love the product concept, just not the latest execution.
