Cool little piece of kit
The screen looks great. Love this thing. Easy to setup once I figured out the permission problem I had in Linux. Would buy again.

Excellent Performance, Great Screen
Excellent Performance, Great Screen, bought the unit with the soldered headers. Unless you are using a breadboard would recommend buying without them pre-soldered to make the unit able to fit into smaller project boxes.

Nice kit butโฆ
It was a challenge to get setup. Nice product product, good craftsmanship. Hit the YouTube for instructions as product support needs improvement.

Review update
so it has not failed in my machine but i will state it just works. Its not amazing but it will work. if u got a working one. I have gotten one dead one DOA but replaced thanks to amazon. regardless its a super simple TFT that has enough IO to get most of what you would ask an ESP32 to get done. If it dont have enough GPIO's for you I would say...... I pray for you my friend because your working on something more complicated than I would care to even touch.

Great display and ESP32-S3
Had a few projects needing displays and this works alot better than other displays I have added to boards.

It's a great design and device.
It will become more mainstream when thereโs code developers.

A very feature rich esp32s3 devkit at a good price
All in all this is a fun and useful package with a handful more built in hardware than the ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1. The unit I received however was in less than stellar condition but ill get to that in a bit. Setup and uploading was pretty easy in both Arduino IDE and VSCode, I was sad to see that it requires a physical button combination to get it into upload mode and IDEs struggle to auto connect so you will have to pick the device each time it powers down. WIFI 2.4G works great. The LCD screen looks fantastic and is protected with a clear plastic guard on the sides. You'll also most likely want to get familar with the TFT_eSPI libs if you are looking to do more graphical work on this device. According to the JST GH connector on the device along with the battery charging module it has built in it should charge and use your choice of 3.7V input. Again sadly it seemed the module was missing C21, a 100nF capacitor rendering the feature inoperable. I confirmed this via schematics and online photos. So bummer... The second issue I had run into while testing was GPIO14, the tactile switch called KEY. After some troubleshooting it seemed this part was also inop. I didn't see any visible reason but the LCD does cover a large portion on the top of the device so it may have been under that. I also wasn't going to bother hunting the issue down with a multi-meter as this was going to be a returned item. Bummer.. Other than the most likely isolated issues, this is a very awesome devkit if you are looking to create UI's for IOT projects or anything that needs a better than subpar display. Its packed with features, includes more than satisfactory specs(I've always enjoyed the S3 series). The pin selection is somewhat limiting but is a non-issue as its not designed to be a deployed unit. Lets hope the replacement on its way will be in working order. Excited to get back into it
