Bought this SanDisk pro-blade transport system... Did not get to it until after return date... IT WAS DEFECTIVE. My mistake. After some arm twisting... I received a full refund and a new pro-blade eventually. Works great!

Highly recommend if speed and flexibility matter to you.

Update: The second unit failed after 90 days. DO NOT PURCHASE !!! I purchased this unit, along with several of the Blade SSD magazines, less than ten months ago. Today, I noticed the station was not lit up. Apparently, the internal power has failed. Plugging/unplugging results in fast fan action, then nothing. My suspicion is because the station tends to runs very hot when operating (sometimes the SSD magazine are scorching) something has burned out internally. It sells with a five-year warranty, but be prepared to go through a lot of hoops to even get an RMA started. Up until today it has operated well, but now, since I am so invested in the ecosystem, I feel I need to have a backup unit on hand in case of failure. "Professional" is not a word I would attach to this product as we tend to put a lot of demands on our hard drives and storage media and expect more. Shipping back to SanDisk next week for replacement.

I am doing a lot more video and use this to edit with LumaFusion on my iPad. I don’t want to store the data on the iPad and this is helpful. It is not as fast as the extreme pro SSD Al when I am editing on it but it does the trick. There are some issues with ProRes 10bit but no issues with 1080 p footage. I like this as I can buy the sticks rather than large storage devices. I will buy more.

I've been using my Sandic problade for about a year now and it's been awesome. I like the interchangeable storage design. I initially purchased the pro blade so I could use it with my Lumix s5m2x and record directly to an SSD but have since been using it for mass storage in general. I like being able to organize projects physically by drive. The pro blade has become my recording and mass storage system Its a but expensive to buy into the ecosystem which is what will probably turn most people off but the convenience is worth it for me.

The blade/stick solution is certainly a clever design. After so many formats now gone, the main question is the life span and consequently availability of this format in the next several years. The desk multi-blade boxes are currently too expensive where this system may not gain enough popularity to be still offered i.e. 5 years from now. The stick/blades commend premium cost which cal also limit its market life cycle. Cost reduction and 8TB, 12TB introductions could help. Update 09/26. The 4TB mag I just received via Amazon was unsealed and appeared to be previously used. Not sure wether or not to return it.. Update 10/09/24. The SanDisk blade ecosystem could use a dual-bay reader in addition to the too expensive and too bulky 4-bay unit. A raid provision could be added as well.

Incredible, versatile, small, lightweight, fast. Great pairing for my Kondor Blue grip + hub rig for my iPhone 16 Pro filmmaking jobs.

Is it pricy? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes. I love this thing. It allows me to take my design files with me without having multiple chunky drives. Now I can just buy another tiny blade drive when I need more storage and they take up practically no space in my bag. It’s also extremely fast and reliable.

Muy recomendable producto, el disco es muy rápido y el tamaño es ideal para traerlo en la mochila. Lo uso para almacenar planos y documentos del trabajo, me lo puedo llevar a la obra y ver los archivos en laptops o en tabletas (cuando se requiere visita de campo y ver los planos en el lugar). Es un poco caro pero creo que por la calidad si lo vale.

Love this station! The only downside is the fan noise, I mounted underneath the desk and is fine, only when I copy a lot of data (4-8 TB) at the same time on multiple drives the fan will make pretty loud noise, but that’s for a few minutes. When video editing from it the fan is on low speed (you can still hear it but if mounted underneath the desk is way better). Definitely great ecosystem and will probably get more!
