Purchased this ruler for a quilt but given the compact size, I find the functionality is endless. Great readability. Fairly slip resistant and good quality. Very easy to use.

Creative grids makes great quilting rulers. The lines are easier for me to see than some other brands. I needed a size for working on small projects or when working in tight quarters.

When making flying geese, it cuts your time in half for cutting and square

I probably own too many Creative Grids rulers, but I keep reaching for this one—especially when working in cramped quarters now that my daughter and her cat have taken over my usual craft space.This ruler was crucial for my flying geese quilt (the Chatsworth quilt, which turned out amazing). I used it for every single square. It’s lightweight, doesn’t slip, and the markings are crystal clear. I love that I don’t have to think—I’ve used Creative Grids for so long that everything is familiar and intuitive.If you’re tackling any kind of precision piecing, especially in limited space, this size is a winner.

When doing smaller work, this 4.5“ x 8.5“ is actually an ideal size. After you’ve already cut your strips or whatever, and you need to cut things down further, this size is really quite manageable for your hands and fits on maybe one of the smaller mats. Of course it has the typical markings that are so unique and so helpful to creative grids including the 1 inch markings in white and then on the opposite side and bottom the 3 1/2 inch marking so half inch, one and a half inch, 2 1/2 inch etc. The other thing that I really love about creative grids rulers is that on the side with the 1 inch to inch white markings, there is a quarter inch dotted demarcation for when you need to make that quarter inch determination on something like an economy block. A marvelous size of a ruler, so glad that I bought it!

I needed some special ruler extras and this one was it. It has several additional sections to help with my quilting. It’s sturdy and easy to use while it stays firmly on product. If doing points and section off squares this one adds extra dimension
