Do the controls stay lit while the blanket is on, or do the indicators on the controls go dark after awhile?

The light turns off after seconds, which is good because the light is so bright it lights the whole ceiling. However, because the light turns off, I never know if the blanket is on or off. Also, if I get chilled in the middle of the night, when I reach over to turn on the blanket the light again lights up the whole room accompanied with a Big Fat CLICK CLOCK! The control panel on this blanket is thoughtless and miserable. I'm convinced that the makers never once spent a night with this blanket.

Does it have a border so it can be tucke in and if so how long is the border? My mattress is ten inches.

It has a sewn edge. Never tuck in an electric blanket though. It can bend and break the heating wires and if in use this causes a fire hazard to tuck under a mattress.

Does it hurt the blanket if you sit on the bed? My teen wants one but I'm sure it will end up getting sat on.

Unless she plans to permanently sit on the blanket, I don't think it will hurt the blanket. If she's never getting under it give her a non-electric blanket.
