Great PoE distribution switch. I used it to provide networking and power to a UniFi AP and camera in a spot with no outlet and only a single cable back to the main PoE switch. As others have noted, it must receive PoE from the upstream switch since it has no power supply of its own. Per-port and total power limits likely cap it at about two APs or one AP plus three cameras, but as a small branch switch it’s perfect.

I like this device because I do not need a separate power supply. I am using it with a NVR poe security system. The single cat6 from the NVR powers the device and also receives the images from all three cameras that are connected to the device. I placed the device near the cameras so I used less cat6 cable. No power adapter for each camera was needed. The price is good. Do plan to buy at least 2 more and I will place them at different sides of the house. Working very good.

I just want someone to see this so they don't make the same mistake I did. Nothing wrong with the item, but the TEG1105PD is a splitter for POE, not actually a POE switch. It does not supply any power of it's own, it needs to have POE delivered to it to split that power off to other devices. It actually kind of worked for my application, but my POE injector couldn't supply enough power for my wireless access points. It's meant more for something like cameras, where you can power a few off of one port on a real POE switch.

Bought this to use with PoE cameras when I was running low on ports. Works perfect, running 4 cameras and my main PoE switch reads a 25w load including this little guy. Problem solved! Also good for saving your gig PoE ports from being wasted on 100M cameras, or for adding a camera close to another one without running another drop. Note that it will request 30w so make sure you have power budget or it won’t turn on.

Se cercate uno switch alimentato POE (cioè SENZA ALIMENTATORE da collegare a una presa elettrica) questo è un'ottima scelta, se non forse l'unica. E' difficile su Amazon (e un po' ovunque) capire se uno switch POE è POE in uscita - cioè ha un alimentatore ma poi ha le porte ethernet alimentate - o in entrata - cioè usa l'alimentazione POE per se alimentare se stesso... La maggior parte degli switch che troverete hanno solo porte POE in uscita, questo invece usa il POE anche come alimentazione. Comodissimo da usare per aggiungere delle porte quando avete già uno switch POE principale che lo può alimentare. Attenzione però che in questo caso l'alimentazione POE non è un'opzione ma è l'unico modo di funzionamento, l'alimentatore esterno non c'è neanche opzionale... per cui non compratelo se non siete nella situazione descritta sopra.
