Factory Replacement
Simple fix Only took a few mins to replace * 1 bolt (10mm) * 1 clip (use a flathead screwdriver) (2009 silverado) Abs/traction lights were off & on for 2 years, finally decided to fix. I gave the truck a test run through town, dash lights are off (I will update if they come back on after first road trip) 👌

Fix for Cruise Control on Silverado 2009
My cruise control was not working periodically. Sometimes I would drive and it would turn on just fine, other times I would press on the button and nothing. To validate that the Stoplight Switch was the problem, I was driving and the cruise control would not turn on. I pulled up on the brake with my foot and then tried the cruise control. It seemed to work fine. Duplicated this a couple of times and so I went ahead and order a new switch. Installation was a pain. The bolt was easy enough to remove. The problem was the clip was difficult to remove. Putting on the new switch and then trying to get the clip back on, was again even more difficult to get it to snap back on to place. It eventually snapped back on and I then screwed back on the bolt. Do not over tighten the bolt. After everything was put back together, the cruise control is working and I have not had any issues. This switch tends to go bad frequently. In the past I have had the mechanic replace it. If your cruise control works sometimes, you might try checking the stoplight switch.

8 min fix. works great. Cheap. 2007 GMC Sierra.
There are NO instructions included. Go find the right youtube videos and pay particular attn to the order of removal and replacement. If you do that, this is a very fast fix for cruise that lights up on the steering wheel, but will not actually engage or illuminate on the instrument cluster.

Fixed my Cruise Control!
I was extremely pleased with the brake switch and worked just as it should have in the first place. I own a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT and noticed when i tried turning the cruise control on it would not work. My brake lights worked but the cruise control did not work. I learned this by pushing the cruise control button on the left hand side of the steering wheel and then hitting the set button which is underneath the cruise control button. There should be a light on the gauge cluster when you hit "set" that looks like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/15/Cruise_Control.svg/2000px-Cruise_Control.svg.png . If that light comes up on the gauge cluster then your cruise control works if this light does not come on after hitting set then your cruise control is not working properly and it is likely that you have a faulty brake switch. For my application, when I hit set nothing would happen. I did some research and figured out this was likely the issue. For 13 dollars I realized it's worth a shot. Today I got the part which was in a small plastic ACDelco bag in a medium sized packaging envelope. Things you need are a ratcheting 10 mm wrench, a flash light, and a flathead screw driver. I followed this video and was able to get the job done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHwWV98wBZU&list=FLlh_SarivhBqFnENckkrktA&index=3. The hardest part about this entire install was the retaining clip. As long as you stick with it you can get that clip off. After about 20 minutes of work I was able to complete the job and take the truck for a test drive. Beware: You do have to go over 25mph to use the cruise control. The cruise control finally worked and I had a huge grin on my face the whole way home! I highly recommend trying this if your cruise control does not work.

Bought this to replace my old switch on my 07 Avalanche, which was not disengaging fully (this affected my trailer brake controller in such a way that it wouldn't disengage without me slapping the brake pedal several times to force it to disengage). Also my cruise control wouldn't work because it thought my brake pedal was engaged . It took some twisting & discomfort on my old body, but after perhaps 45 minutes the new switch was in place and since then, all works perfectly. I would recommend.

This switch is an exact replacement for the AC Delco brake switch on my 2007 New Body GMC Sierra 1500. I began having problems with the cruise control not engaging, and discovered the well known problem of this switch being the culprit. I was able to easily remove and disassemble the original switch, and found the small copper spring contacts inside the switch had sagged, and were no longer allowing the switch to open and close properly. I bent the contacts slightly to re-tension them and the switch is working properly again. While doing this repair I ordered this inexpensive replacement switch so if I lose my cruise control again, rather than repair a second time I will simply replace it with this new switch and be good for another 12 years.

My cruise control was not functioning and I had intermittent warning lights for "stabilitrack and ABS" on my 2010 GMC Sierra. Once this break switch was installed (20min and Im not a mechanic) all my dash lights are off and my cruise control works like the day I bought the truck. Great product simple install. I recommend
