I was not expecting it until later in the week so it was a really nice surprise to get it early
My Blue Yeti arrived today. I was not expecting it until later in the week so it was a really nice surprise to get it early. I have two YouTube channels. My main channel is a cooking channel and the second one is a Mukbang Eating Show. When I do my Mukbang videos, QUALITY sound is everything. Up until now I have been doing voice overs in my video editing program. The sound quality from my video cam and my iPhone was not great for making quality sound videos. So I purchased this Blue YETI USB Microphone and wondered why I didn't make this leap before now. I shot a video today and was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. I have a few issues I need to deal with. The first one is that I need a much longer USB cord so I will be going to Best Buy tomorrow and look for an extension USB cord. The second issue - and let me say this I don't think it is the unit but the noisy place where I live. I noticed when I was editing my video tonight there was a lot of background noise that was picked up by my Yeti. I could hear the planes going over my house as well as outside noise in the distance. I had all of my windows closed so I don't know why these noises were picked up. I turned off my air conditioner, ceiling fan and refrigerator.....YES the YETI picked up the hum of my AC, ceiling fan and fridge lol. I was working in my office quite a distance away from my kitchen so I don't know why it picked up the hum from the fridge. I need to resolve the second issue in a hurry because turning off my AC and fridge is NOT an option. I live in Las Vegas and it is getting HOT. We will soon be in the triple digits temps so AC is a must. Can someone please help me out here. All in all I am very happy with my Blue Yeti. Good Value, Nice Offer for the Cost.
Happy with the Microphone. As a musician I know what a good mic cost, had many sm 57's and 58's which cost me two hundred each back in the 70's and 80's saved my "restaurant worker" money a little at a time to get stuff like that. The Yeti bundle will prove to be worth it. The phones I don't use, got other ones, but that's not why I made this purchase. I wanted the mic for podcasting and the screen with it. I didn't want to spend the time trying to get the stuff separately. I read reviews that said the mic was defective. I don't let that decide for me, you just return it if it doesn't work, or work correctly. Most dealers will be glad to refund you and you can get on with things. Now I can do my podcasting without all the pitchy whistling and pop noises I used to make when I talk. I would have to edit audio using software and try to clean it up, now I will still do that but it will be much better working with it...Nice! Oh yeah, no issues with getting it to come on for the first time. No disc to load, no site to go to and download, just plugged it in and Win 7 added the sound device and then told me it was ready to use. Didn't try it on my MAC yet but I did use it on a laptop that has Win 10 on it and same thing, got a message saying it was ready to use!

Solid piece. I once saw Bill O’reilly bludgeon a sound engineer to death with one.
The mic is everything I was hoping for. I’ve recorded many podcasting sessions with it and it’s worked flawlessly- even better than expected. The seller did a supremely quick job of landing the box on my doorstep in excellent packaging. The mic is substantially built from high quality materials and is a nice and heavy piece of kit. I will never upgrade, as the mic delivers a quality of audio capturing beyond what I’ll ever need for my purposes. The heaphones it came with are a surprisingly great value. I’ve owned many pairs of studio headphones into the range of several hundred dollars before, and these compare to most pairs I’ve owned in the $60-90 range, but at roughly $25-30 dollars. The engineering and geometry of them is pretty impressive, now that I think of it, but may have taken a back seat to cup ergonomics. Their consistent reproduceability of audio is where they excell at their price point. The pop-filter in the package seemed to be well made, but I prefer a different style of filter, so this one was put in a pile of stuff I keep to give away to co-hosts or other podcasters. My only critical remark with the whole bundle is that the volume knob on the Yeti microphone are made of some pretty cheap feeling thermoplastic on a piece of equipment that’s fit and finish otherwise would have been of a comparitively high caliber. Do my fingers really care all that much? Nope.

Two years later it's dead without warning
Welp, this product officially died on me yesterday. I was prepping to record my daily show with my wife and the power light blinked off. I fiddled, plugged/ unplugged and even ordered a new power cord to no avail. Completely out of left field as the power was never an issue. In the two years it worked for me I had various problems but normally with enough research I could solve them. Not sure about how I feel about my value when it randomly dies out of the blue but if you feel like two years is a solid lifespan for mics then maybe you'll enjoy it more.I'm just disappointed that I'm outside of both return and support range as I thought I had some form of warranty for internal issues or malfunctions.Would I recommend this mic? At this point no which is really a shame as I was recommending it to other people interested in streaming. It really was overall a pleasant two years but I'd like my money to stretch a little more if possible.
