Queen of Mirrors and Madness (Villains of Wonderland) Paperback – September 6, 2022

How can you leave me hanging like that!!!! I mean I am so deep into this story and then I am left with this high cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next book!!

The characters were great and its pretty easy to tell who is the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat the rabbit; all of them despite having different names.Adeline starts off this book in a mental institution haunted by a memory no one has recollection of yet she knows its true. She avoids mirrors seeing someone in them who searches for her and she avoids it at all costs until one day she looks into a glass ring and HE sees her...She is pulled into Wonderland and must recover her memories to defeat her mother the Red Queen with the help of Darius, Lucien, Nox and Baxter who all remember Alice who goes under the name Adeline now.She was a much different person when she was a princess doing the bidding of her mother while unknowingly destroying the mens lives. She tries to regain those memories to see why she did the things she did and find out why the men act a certain way towards her.THIS. WAS. SO. GOOD! I loved the way the author spun this retelling. The backstories, the characters the plot...everything was so so good! And lets not forget the spice in this one! So good!It ended on a MAJOR cliffhanger that had me screaming NOOOOO!!! I look forward to reading book 2!!!!

I am completely and utterly obsessed with this book and the character's that reside in it!!! I mean who doesn't want a Why Choose involving the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Cheshire and more!!!check your tw there is mentioning of blood among some other possible tw's.The book starts out with our FMC Adelaide who is in a mental institution because she is convinced that she killed someone but has no memory of how she just knows that she awoke covered in blood next to an equally bloody weapon. she sees things and is convinced she was in another world and someone is after her.of course she is right someone is after her and she is found and pulled back through a portal to another world.If you liked the never King by Nikki St. Crowe I feel like you would enjoy this as well. there is a spicy teacup scene and a cane scene, the spice was everything!!!!

I couldn't put this book down. If you love Nikki St. Crowe's work or some of the other fairy tale retellings out there, you're going to love this book. It's a really original, interesting take on Alice in Wonderland, just #whychoose style. Great writing and let me just say I'm never, ever going to see tea parties the same way again. If you're ready to get lost in wonderland, this book is for you.

This book started out okay and was a bit interesting UNTIL it turning into nothing but smut. After three chapters of basically nothing but gratuitous sex, sex, sex, I returned it. I was looking for a retelling of the story not porn, soft or not.

I've read a lot of retellings, both YA and adult versions and they always seem to fall flat in some way.Queen of Mirrors and Madness exceeded that expectation. It took its time revealing bits of Adelaide's memories and gave me a sense of understanding with each new revelation.The spice is just enough that it doesn't overpower the plot but is still a big focus. The story left me feeling hurt at times, with backstories presenting themselves for the men and even Adelaide.It definitely left me wanting more, needing more. That ending!
