I have a Dell Inspiron 3880 that I purchased in 2021. It came with a 1TB HDD. I could have ordered it with an SSD as well as the HDD, but the only size they offered was a 256GB and they wanted too much for it. It always booted up slowly from day 1. Recently, I purchased a Samsung 970 EVO 2TB SSD here from Amazon at an amazing price and Man, does it ever boot fast, just 2 minutes compared to the 10 minutes from the HDD. But it fit in the M.2 slot at an angle because Dell didn't provide a riser. I was concerned that it wasn't getting enough airflow and would overheat. That's why I purchased this riser kit, and found a riser and screw combination that now has the SSD sitting straight and level. Since Dell has a proprietary motherboard, not just any riser would screw into the SSD hole. This kit had a variety of risers and screws so I was able to find the right combination to install the SSD properly and securely.I would recommend this kit to anyone who has a motherboard with non-standard screw points for an M.2 SSD.
