ion Color Defense SulfateFree Shampoo, Protection for Color Treated Hair

I absolutely love this shampoo due to the fact that it is fragrance free and it is also sulfate free so it is great for my color treated hair. It leaves my hair soft and manageable. You should also buy the conditioner that goes with this! It makes a great combo!

I’ve used this shampoo for probably a couple years now. It makes my scalp feel so clean without stripping. I color my roots bright red so no matter what I lose color every time I wash, but this shampoo does help to not strip it out more than it needs to. Consistency is like a gel I’d say, but a silky gel, not like aloe. Fragrance is not overbearing at all. Value is a yes. The bottle lasts forever.

Love this conditioner, try it. Other kinds didn't like em went back to this one even though it's a bit pricey

Only giving 4 stars as the shampoo was open inthe packaging. Looked like they rewrapped it after it leaked. I forgot to take photos and I am not returning it as I love th eproduct.

I love this shampoo. It is very gentle on color treated hair without stripping it. Due to it being sulfate free, it doesn't make a lot of suds. If you like alot of suds you can use more. My hair feels so clean and does not leave an oily residue.

My favorite shampoo, conditioner and hair dye. Everything I buy from ION is spot on amazing thank you for the great products.

Edited 2-22-2015 I am still using this brand of shampoo and conditioner, but have switched to the brown label. It truly is an amazing product line. Any one of the Ion product line is well worth the money. (Original Post 11-14-2011) I am on my 3rd month of using this shampoo. I have thick, slightly wavy, and somewhat coarse hair that can be frizzy. My hair is also about 15-20% grey. This shampoo and conditioner have been great. My hair is soft, shiny, and healthy looking with body even after coloring it. I do still have to use some heat (flat iron) to straighten the frizzes on very humid days, but nothing like prior to using this product. I also use the semi-permanent color by the same company (reviewing it soon). I have not used the items separately to see if I get the same results, but the combination has been beyond my expectations. Where other expensive salon shampoos and conditoners have failed, this has excelled. It smells great too. (Update: 4-21-2014) After using this product for over a year, it stopped working as well. It also became more difficult to pump; I'm guessing the formula was changed to be thicker. I have since switched to Ion Keratin Smoothing Shampoo and the Conditioner. It works very well by itself, but I still needed a little something extra to get completely smooth hair. I've added Aquage Straightening Ultragel to my regemine and this combination seems to be perfect for frizz free hair.

Shampoo as shown in other reviews was all over the packaging.. box was even soggy.. about 1/4th of the bottle was gone however, product works wonders. Super soft and fresh looking hair. Hair feels hydrated and smells great. Wish the bottle was more secure with a tab ob the top to peel off before use.
