The SNAP-IDC5-SW module provides four channels of contact status input. The module supplies 15 volts of power to an external dry contact switch and senses switch closure. Each user-supplied switch is connected with two wires. Because the module includes power for the switch, it is particularly cost-effective when labor costs for wiring external power are high. Typical switches for use with these modules are switched status sensors (level sensors, pressure indicators, etc.), magnetic reed switches (used on doors or windows for burglar alarms), snap-action micro switches, the auxilliary switches on motor starters, and most relay contacts. CAUTION: The SNAP-IDC5-SW inputs are not intended to be used with contacts that are connected to any external user-supplied voltage or current. Opto 22 SNAP I/O digital input modules are part of the SNAP PAC System. The module mounts on a SNAP PAC mounting rack with a SNAP PAC rack-mounted controller or brain. Other digital, analog, and serial SNAP I/O modules can be placed on the same rack for the mix of signals required at any location. SNAP digital modules can be used with both standard wired Ethernet controllers and brains and with Wired+Wireless™ models. These modules can also be used in intelligent remote I/O for Allen-Bradley PLC systems.Underwriters Laboratory, Factory Mutual, IEC 950: 1991-09, 89/336/EEC, 2002/95/EC, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement
