This trackpad works well enough, especially compared to the original that stopped functioning. the fit into the opening on my mid 2010 macbook pro 15" is fine, but not perfect. It seats just a little crooked, but that doesn't really matter. My main feedback is that the trackpad is not 100% perfectly uniform in its sensitivity. I can move my fingers across the trackpad and the cursor will go for a bit then stop moving. I have to press my fingers on the pad harder to get more uniform motion of the cursor. All in all if you have a broken trackpad and need an inexpensive replacement, this one will work well. It just doesn't function exactly like the original apple trackpad.

I was scared that this wasn't going to work, and for a while it didn't but it may be because I had to reset the SMC (System Management Controller) after installing so that it would function correctly. So for so good, it really is as if it's brand new so far. A little sensitive at times where I'll be scrolling an it thinks I right-click for a second, but it really is hardly that big of a deal. I'm just so happy I don't have to rely on an external mouse. Fair warning, you're gonna need some special tools which I borrowed from my dad and you need to be very careful when installing. I suggest doing a bit of research in making sure you installed it correctly. Other than that, after the SMC restart, this thing works well.

The battery on my son's older Macbook Pro swelled, popped some of the case screws out and cracked the trackpad (not an unusual occurrence as these batteries age). This trackpad was an easy replacement, once the battery is removed the trackpad is right there, only a few tiny screws holding it in. Great value.

It works and has the same great feel as the original Apple part. Cannot believe how pricey it is but it is just awesome.BTW, when replacing parts in a laptop, such as a trackpad, it is ALWAYS very difficult to install.

Ordered the unit with the attached cable, but on the 15 inch MacBook would require more disassembly than I wanted to do, so used the original cable instead. Wasn't hard to install at all, and appears to be working just fine.

Easy (assuming you are reasonably confident with tiny screws and using YouTube videos to do diy repairs).
