Goliath Chess/Checkers/Backgammon (Amazon Exclusive) - 3 Games in One with Full Size Staunton Chess Pieces and Interlocking Checkers

I was expecting a giant-sized checker/chess/backgammon board, but it was only standard/Olympic size when it arrived. To be honest, I've never even played backgammon, and I didn't actually read the description so the size mistake is my fault. The board and pieces are very easy to set up and play, and honestly, despite it's being only standard/Olympic-sized , it's a lot of fun for the students that get to play with it, they play on it all the time. Now that I think about it, the size of these kids is pretty small, and the board looks huge, so everybody wins.

I'm impressed that this item only took 2 weeks to arrive in NZ! The game box had been placed inside a thick protective brown paper bag and arrived in almost perfect condition apart from a slight dent underneath. The box itself is made of quite thin cardboard. Thinner than game boxes normally are. The game board is ok but but thinner than usual and the join line where the board folds in half is very thin and can see it's a white line (I used black Acrylic paint to hide the white centre join line but a permanent black marker would probably work too). The plastic chess pieces feel light and are hollow but ok (you could probably fill them with something to help add weight eg, use clay that goes hard in oven or air dry clay & glue inside chess pawns?). The plastic checkers/backgammon tokens and x2 dice are good. It's still a good set but because I live so far & shipping is expensive for me, it's not as worth it as it would be if you lived closer. Still fun games. Thanks

Perfect for beginners or the classroom

I bought it because it was cheap. The board is low quality and flimsy. The board is not very stable as it doesn’t want to lay flat. The materials for the pieces are cheap plastic. The size was what I expected. It was not missing any pieces.

Honestly , if you were able to find each of these games at the $1.25 store then they would be better quality than this set. But you can’t find all three of these games there so this is the next best thing. The board is thinner than a hardcover book. It’s got an uncovered cardboard line going down the center of the board. And don’t get me started on the corrugated cardboard box. It feels like they printed on a shipping box.I would not buy if I were you. I was splurge 15 more dollars and get good quality sets.

I bought this product as a gift, but was unable to gift it. It did not come in a shipping box, was filthy, dirty and the product box was damaged. To be new, it looks 30 years old.

I ordered this for fun. It's plastic and generic. It's great for kids to learn on.
