LAPGEAR Schoolhouse Lap Desk - Java Acacia Wood, Built-in Storage

I literally just got this laptop desk. It feels very sturdy and is nicely made. I got the acacia color and I love it. The surface is smooth. There is plenty of storage for pens and colored pencils. I bought it so I can sit in the recliner and pay bills, read, draw and color. The beaded cushion is very nice and makes it very comfortable. I would definitely order again as a gift for someone. It was packaged very well and arrived in excellent condition.

I am disabled and often bed bound. I like to draw and write to kill the boredom and needed a better lap desk than what I had before. The pad is wonderfully padded with just enough to keep your lap comfortable for hours without crushing you. The storage inside is roomy enough for a small notebook and sketch book as well as enough for pens, eraser, and pencils. I love using it and it feels nice in various sitting positions. Even with my items inside of it, the desk doesn’t feel very heavy and it’s easy to move out of the way for naps and rests. I love the wood color and feel and have used it to hold my mobile devices. It’s a wonderful desk and I truly have no regrets buying it! Recommend!

This was a gift for my husband which went over surprisingly well. As a designer, he usually finds something to criticize about everything, but he likes this just fine. It's not super expensive, the hinges are a little stiff, but it's elegant and simple. Nice for a small laptop.

Convenient and sturdy. Bought it for my husband because we have no room for a desk. He used it daily.

I live in an apartment and was looking for a something to help me write while sitting on the couch or chair since I don't have space for a full size desk at the moment. This lap desk is very attractive and comfortable to use, a big bonus is the storage space. Inside I am able to fit pencils and pens of different sizes as well as books and journal I am currently using. When my mom was visiting she saw it and wanted one for herself, it has a very old school/classic look to it. The only thing that I am critical of is the fact that since the wood is so smooth, books or whatever is on the desk seems to slide easily if you move around a lot. This isn't a problem when using my laptop because the laptop has rubber feet, or when using leather books since the course leather material doesn't slide around on wood. However paperbacks especially tend to slide, this is something I think is worth mentioning and I think a potential buyer should consider this aspect of the desk. I still recommend this desk and I like using it myself, just be aware that books will slide if you shift your legs around a lot.

Very impressed and I can tell will last for years!! I love organization and things that make sense lol I bought this for my 9yr old son and he loves it for homework! Heavy duty, the top stays up when you pop it open and the beads in the bottom part make it comfortable. No more sitting uncomfortable at the kitchen table while we spend time doing homework and spelling words !

My sweet husband handles all the bills— but leaves a trail of papers all the way behind him, throughout the house. He never said anything about needing a way to organize things, but I decided it needed to happen, so got this for him as a birthday gift. And he likes it! (I can be SO SMART!) It has a thick pad on the bottom so it is very comfy, has several nice internal divisions for storing items, and is made of a very smooth, handsome wood. Would be nice for either a man or a woman. Put it on the gift list for every “Difficult to Buy For” person this Christmas!

Eight pictures compare my old style Lapgear Schoolhouse Lap Desk with measurements to the current one. It has gotten Significantly smaller since I last purchased my older one. Yes, it may fit a laptop but nothing else. There's no room left to write down on paper or even a checkbook while the laptop is being used. The inside no longer fits an 8 1/2 x 11 paper from top to bottom. The construction quality has remained but if it is too petite to utilize them what's the point? And, the price is the same as it was when I purchased the bigger one. Everyone has experienced shrinkflation but I think some products are taking advantage. I haven't decided yet if I will keep this as a poor backup or go for one of the others on Amazon designed to hold books but a lot cheaper and possibly bigger.

The laptop lap desk is a perfect working platform while comfortably seated on a lounge chair. Documents can be stored under the hinged lid and a groove safely retains pens etc while using a laptop on too

Delivered on time, excellent packing. Looks really nice just like an old fashioned school desk, with a cushion under to soften it on the knees, much like you get on a laptray but thicker. Plenty of space in the interior for pens, essential paperwork & can even fit in my mouse. It was expensive but I am really pleased with my purchase, and would recommend the item & the supplier.

Good quality lap desk. It's ideal for laptops or colouring on. I will say that the storage area is deceptive small, so if you're looking for something to hold a lot of supplies, this just isn't it.

Great little desk with storage for my portable drives

I love the top part of this "desk" but ended up ripping off the cushion part at the bottom. It was too hard - for me - and didn't sit comfortably on my lap. It felt like such a waste of money to pull off the cushion part but now I use the top part to store my pens, pencil, markers etc, and the angle is great for drawing. Good product but wasn't fit for my purpose.
