Burt's Bees 100% Natural Nourishing Mascara, Black Brown - 0.4 Ounce

I am switching to all natural products. I know burt's bees is not the *absolute cleanest* in terms of ingredients but this mascara is not as bad as some of their other products and is what I can currently afford. I previously tried a natural mineral makeup brand mascara carried by wholefoods, reccommended by the staff as not flaking (which is a common problem with natural formulas). It did, and at $17 too. It is difficult to find brown mascara anymore so I like that they offer it. It goes on really well, much better than the chemical-laden stuff like great lash. I don't have to scrape the brush on the edge to get the extra off before applying with this at all. No product waste, bonus. Alot comes out on the brush but it is completely manageable with a light touch. The brush part is bendy so scraping it would be impossible to do. Not sure why, it is not positionable or anything, just springy-bendy. But it works well. Really better than anything else ever tried. With this mascara I can do one pass, no clumps whatsoever and then add a little to the ends for extra oomph if I want it. So you can do 'enhanced natural' or go dramatic with this. No flakes, no smudging after a long day. And the tube is big so will probably last. There are some other highly rated natural mascaras out there but for the prices you would think the stuff is gold. This is a great alternative.

Been using for years. It doesn’t flake into my eyes and cause irritation. Washes off easily enough. I do wish it came with a different brush, but that won’t stop me from using this product repeatedly. Have tried a few others along the way and threw them out to return to this non irritating formula.

This is healthier than most mascara & not quite the coverage that might be desired but basically this is exactly what I expected from a healthier mascara. Love this brand.

The brush does not separate the lashes. It does not irritate my eyes, which is good. However the plastic "brush" is not good. I bought another separate brush and tried to use it instead of the one that comes with it, however, it will not go deep enough into the tube to get any product on it. I like the formula, but wish it had a better brush.

So far, so good! I have been using this mascara for about 2 weeks now and I really like it. I have been on the hunt for a relatively natural mascara and have tried Ecco Bella, Gabriel, and Reviva Labs Hypo Allergetic Mascara in brown or brown/black. All of which have been less than stellar. As of right now, this product goes on smooth without clumps, it subtly thickens and lengthens my eyelashes, it doesn’t come off or burn my eyes when my eyes tear, the applicator is easy to use, and the color is great! And for $12, it definitely beats the others in terms of price. My only complaint is that there are some chemicals in the product that I would not consider “100% natural.” But for me, it is worth having a few seemingly harmless chemicals in exchange for an easy to use mascara that does not wipe off, clump, or burn my eyes when they tear. UPDATE: It’s winter where I live (dry snow) and if even the slightest bit of moisture gets on my mascara, it’s over. The mascara gets into my eyes and burns really badly. I can’t get it to dry again and it will keep burning to the point where I can’t see (this has happened in the car a few times and I’ve had to pull over). All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this product for people who live in places with seasons.

This is my favorite mascara. I absolutely love it! Gentle to my lashes, and yet makes them look fabulous. HOWEVER, be careful when you buy it!! I have been using this brand for years, but my local store was out of it, so I bought it from Amazon. It was marked down to a crazy-low price, which should have given me a clue something was wrong. It was clumpy, not smooth and creamy like it always is. My guess is that it was old product that got marked down to sell quickly. I tried it anyway, and dried pieces flaked off, got in my eye, and I need to have it "irrigated" to get it out and relieve the pain. Never again will I trust mascara that has been marked down. And if you ever have "clumpy" mascara --- don't use it! Toss it out, no matter how much you spent on it!

I’ve used great lash mascara for over 20 years since I was a teen, but recently I’ve become more aware of the chemicals I’m putting on and in my body and swore to myself that I’d find a safer alternative when my last bottle ran out. I did a lot of research and after some paralysis, finally decided to try this one. Happy to say that it is creamy and not clumpy. It doesn’t stay on as long as great lash, but it’s kind of disturbing to think about what was in great lash to make it lacquer to my face unless I scrubbed it off with soap. Love how this one just washes away with a little warm water. I feel much more at ease knowing this is what I’m putting close to my eyeballs almost every day. Next step is getting off mascara all together, but for now I’m loving this one.

MY GO-TO

This is a great clean mascara for everyday use! Gives your eyes enough definition while maintaining a very natural look, which I LOOOOVE!!! It's very easy to remove as well, which helps minimize lash loss. However, it's definitely not cry-proof, so only wear it on happy days :D

Exelente producto un café más hacia negro , yo que tengo dermatitis atópica no me causo irritación,no pica ni arde , sus ingredientes son limpios y naturales lo ame , y por el precio , excelente.

El producto llegó aparentemente bien por fuera pero cuando lo quise usar estaba seco, grumoso y parecía usado, fue tan desagradable y no me hicieron válida la garantía de devolución, pésimo

I’ve converted most of my makeup products to more natural ones and it’s been a bit of trial and error with some products but not this one which suits me just fine. Goes on well, doesn’t smudge into panda eyes, comes off easy enough at the end of the day and I’ve had zero reaction to it on my sensitive eyes. Very happy I’ve found a product that I’ll stick with and have just reordered
