Hornady Ammo Cabinet, Black

Great size for most of my ammo needs, well made, expensive, fits just right in a corner inside my home. Would be great to stack another 2 or 4 in my garage

Updated: After contacting Hornady, they recommened that I bend two hidden tabs near the hinge pins on the door to prevent the door from coming off. That solved the problem. Apparently, the factory neglected to do this. I also found two hinge spacers that fell out of the door and reinstalled them before bending the tabs. The following is the original issue that is now resolved: Whenever I open or close the door, the door falls off the hinge pins and comes completely off. I am not sure if it is missing a spacer on the bottom hinge or a defective design.Overall, this is a very nice storage cabinet.

I like the idea of being able to secure my ammunition and for the most part, this cabinet delivered, however there are some things to note. For one, this cabinet is ASSEMBLED in the USA, so likely the metal and plastic is all chinesium. The 3 included ammo boxes are rather small and made out of cheap flimsy plastic and honestly the metal shell of the cabinet looks and feels cheap too. For the hefty price of $633 (almost 3x as much as I paid for my cabelas gun cabinet which I’d argue is better made) I don’t think it’s worth it. As far as storage goes, don’t expect to put your larger Mil surplus ammo cans in there, they don’t fit. You could put them in sideways however you’ll only be able to fit that one can on the shelf and it’s not aesthetically pleasing (if you care about that). The 3 included shelf mats are also cheaply made and they’re rather small, they won’t cover the entire shelf. I can’t justify the high price tag for something made so cheap and I cannot see myself spending another $633 for more storage. This is another case of paying for the name and not the product.
