Lonely Planet New England (Regional Guide)

Great guidebook, really covers the topics well. Helps find the best places and highlight. Well edited and easy to find needed references. Having a good guide book like this really help uplift and enhance the vacation

I have used probably 30 Lonely Planet guidebooks, from biking in SE Asia to multiple visits to Africa and many, many trips to Europe, as well as their guides to SE US and California. This is the worst of them. Very thin coverage, accomodations sections very limitted-all in all a poor show.

Always solid advice

Lonely Planet does a good job in this category, but I miss Birnbaum

I have multiple Lonely Planet books and absolutely adore them, so I was really excited to get this one in particular since we're planning a NE road trip for our honeymoon. However, this ended up being my least favorite to date, it seemed like they tried to cover way too much information, so this ended up being more of an index with a little bit of information on EVERYTHING but not quite enough to feel comfortable making a plan without sourcing other books and articles. If that's what you're looking for, this is the book for you. If you want more detailed information on each location and it's histories and photos, I'd maybe look elsewhere..

This guide helped me plan a wonderful trip. Places worth visiting, activities, restaurants, etc.

Brilliant guide book, well laid out and easy to read. Looking forward to planning for our trip in September.

Usual Lonely Planet quality but far too vague for such a large area in my opinion. If you are unsure on what part of NE to visit then its good but once you have locked down a state then not really detailed enough at all
