Love cast iron
I have wanted one of these for ages and I am not disappointed. I love cooking on cast iron.It spreads over 2 burners, I run vertically. Usually I set one burner higher than the other so I get a little bit of temperature variation. It also fits in my oven which helps with seasoning and I could cook on it in there. It is a heavy block of metal, as you should expect. Cleaning is not really a problem. Some water and a good stiff brush usually does the trick. I also have a scraper for the tough stuff. The pan must be thoroughly dried or it will rust. (If you do get rust, the scrub the things and begin seasoning again.) I find cleaning when warm is best and I just use water, no soap.Even though it is factory seasoned it will take some time to build a good layer on the surface. A very little oil on the surface and bung it in the oven for about 30 minutes regularly will help. The non-stickiness will improve over time.ProsBig surface to cook onRetains heat wellReversible with a smooth and ridged sidesYou can get away with very little oil when cookingTreated with respect it will out-live youConsHeavyRequires a bit of TLC to maintain its looks(Tip: I got mine from the Amazon Warehouse and it was pristine. It is a large old lump of metal, if it showed some signs wear and tear it is easily recoverable. Even secondhand cast iron is worth a punt.)

Great addition to my kitchen
This is one of the best cast iron skillet I've owned. It came pre seasoned which gives a good starting point to build up a great cooking surface.Being double sided gives loads of cooking options and has enough cooking surface for 3 medium sized burgers.I use mine over the gas cooker (big enough to cover 2 gas hobs) and thus have better control over temperature zones. The ridged side gives amazing charred lines. It's not light weight either...so be prepared! Also it keeps heat very well and fairly long enough. As fas as cleaning it's easy as long as you pat it dry, place it over the hob to finish drying and as soon as it's totally dry, straight away cover the WHOLE skillet with a light coat of vegetable oil (IK there's other good ones to use)...WARNING the skillet is going to be hot...let it cool down and store.

Nice bit of kit
This has sat permanently on my range cooker since purchasing a few months ago. I use it to cook steaks, bacon, burgers and chicken among other things. It's absolutely brilliant and I haven't used my 12 inch skillet since purchasing it.ProsLarge cooking surface area; you can get a lot of food on this at onceRetains its heat exceptionally well - as expected from cast ironFactory Seasoning is good enough to cook with right away and it's improved as I've used it.ConsA bit awkward to clean - because of the size and weight of it, it's not easy to get it under the tap.The grill side is worse for cleaning and I've found I leave it on the flat side because of this. The initial texture was a bit rough, but it's gotten smoother as I've used it.All in all a high quality bit of cookware, that gives great results, provided you know how to (or are prepared to learn) use and look after cast iron.

Excellent - does exactly as expected - superb cooking!
Easy to clean and use. Make sure you warm it up evenly to prevent distortion. Let it cool down on its own, not in water. Easy to ‘season’ it after use. Absolutely does as per manufacturers description. Does not rust if you use it as you should - don’t believe some of these stupid reviews that state it rusts or doesn’t do ‘whatever’. Highly recommended and you won’t get a better product to cook your steak on! Perfect in every way. We purchased the silicone scrapper and their own brand brush for cleaning after use and they are perfect in every way too - probably easier to have these to maintain the product in the best way, than not having them. I really can’t fault the product(s).

Versatile, quality product, good for induction hobs
A solid, versatile tool in the kitchen with just a couple of flaws.PROs:- Great for an induction hob with multizone capability.- Heats very quickly. Even heat transmission.- Reversible so very versatile - steaks on one side, pancakes on the other.- Delivered pre-seasoned so non-stick.- Quality product. Good value for the outlayCons:- Cast iron is very heavy.- Worried it will scratch the glass on induction. They should deliver it with a removable fitted silicone protectors (for opposite edges. Workaround is to place thin silicone mat as support.- came with a flaw - one edge has a nodule that can cut into glass- cast iron needs special cleaning and maintenance.Overall would recommend for induction jobs with multizone functionality.

The best piece of cookware i've ever bought!
I can't believe i didn't buy something like this sooner.Fantastic for cooking several steaks, burgers at one time, great for larger quantities without having to use several pans and it just cooks/sears meat so well.It is very easy to clean, i always run under hot water while it's still hot, give a little scrub with some soap and once dried put oil on it ready for the next use.

Fantastic item
This will get loads of use, holds heat very well, works on our induction hob (both sides) and will also be useful on the bbq and when camping. I’ve had cast iron products for camping before and they need proper care. All the reviews saying this rusts are obviously not caring for it properly. Cast iron needs cleaning/drying/oiling straight after use or yes it will rust….. and definitely don’t put it in the dishwasher !

Doesn't heat evenly on induction
Doesn't heat evenly on induction! Turns out this is a "feature" of cast iron, that it develops hot spots and cool spots and you learn to use them in your cooking, apparently! It means you can't cook a full griddle of pankcakes because 1/3 burn and 2/3 cook unevenly.most pans have different materials to allow for more even heating across the pan. This one does not, so cannot really be used. Shame. It looks nice and finish is good, just doesn't work.

Great quality and multipurpose
The Lodge reversible grill is a high quality, cast iron griddle, with a flat side and a corrugated side to make it a versatile cooking surface. I purchased this to use on our Napoleon barbecue and it fit easily on about a third of the BBQ surface. The grill is heavy and features a raised lip on the edge to limit grease from spilling into your cooking element, which is appreciated. Many of the other grills I looked at online had a hole for grease to drip out of, but this would not have been ideal for use on a barbecue, so I'm happy the Lodge grill does not have any drip holes. There is a loop on two adjacent corners which could be used to fasten to a structure like over a campfire, or to make storage options easier.I have also used it in my oven. You could use it on a stovetop if you had gas (maybe coils), but I doubt it would work well on a flat element.Overall a good product at a reasonable price point. This should last generations with good care!

This reversible cast iron grill and griddle is hands-down one of the best purchases I’ve made for my kitchen. The quality is exactly what you’d expect from Lodge—heavy-duty, durable, and built to last. I love that it’s pre-seasoned, which made it ready to go right out the box (Although I seasoned it again. I’ll give instructions on what I did at the very end of this review in my “PRO TIP”, if you’re interested in doing the same.). I’ve used it for everything from searing steaks and flipping pancakes to grilling veggies and making breakfast sandwiches, and it performs beautifully every single time. The heat retention is unmatched, and I love how evenly it cooks no matter what side I’m using. It turns an ordinary stovetop or campfire into a professional cooking surface, and it’s become one of my go-to tools whether I’m indoors or out. Cleaning it is surprisingly easy, especially if you care for it properly, and it just gets better with time. Like, seriously! Lodge just never disappoints, and this piece is no exception. If you’re serious about your cooking or just want to elevate your meals with that classic cast iron flavor, this is the one to get. It’s reliable, versatile, and honestly—an absolute joy to cook with. And now for my “PRO-TIP”…PRO TIP:: Give it a little extra oiling and bake it a few times when you first get it though (if interested, I’ll tell you how below) — you’ll fall in love with the results.Use an oil with a high smoke point and that forms a good layer of seasoning, like canola oil, Crisco (vegetable shortening), or grapeseed oil. I’ve used vegetable oil too. Avocado oil, I think can be used too, but don’t quote me on that particular one as I’ve never used it. But if I take a guess, I THINK it can be.But the FIRST thing you do even before oiling it and baking it is wash it thoroughly as soon as you get it with a teeny-tiny bit of soap and hot water, EVEN IF IT SAYS IT IS PRESEASONED! But ONLY DO THIS ONCE! After this first wash, you won’t have to use soap ever again! This is to remove any of the factory residue. But you are then to dry the pan completely. Then with a think layer of oil (I pour a bit on the pan and then take a paper towel and wipe it completely with oil in all of the nooks and crannies inside and out and the handle with an even coat of whatever oil you choose to use.Place it upside down on your top oven rack and put a baking sheet (or if you want to line the bottom rack with foil you can do that instead of the baking sheet) on the bottom rack to catch the excess oil that drips off the pan.Bake this @ 450 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour. Then turn the oven off and let it cool completely inside the oven to allow the oil to set. Now, for a smoother, non-stick finish, it’s BEST to repeat this process 2 or 3 times, BUT you don’t have to. I like to though, but who knows…maybe it’s because I’m extra. Then, BOOM! Your brand new cast iron is ready to make some magic happen!! Enjoy!!
