Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat 0.5oz

Okay so after reading the reviews and seeing quite a few negative ones I was nervous. How could such a lauded product just fail for some people? I think I know the answer thanks to trial and error and a few google searches. 1 - this needs to be applied on WET or TACKY polish. Forget all you know about top coats and you’ll get it. This product should be applied before your polish has finished drying because it doesn’t just sit on top of it, it bonds through all the layers of polish and onto your natural nail. It hardens everything and seals it in to make it last. If your polish is dry it cannot do that. It also can’t be applied to bare nails, so if you just want shiny bare nails stick with a cheap top coat that can be applied that way. This one just can’t be used like that. 2 - it needs to be applied quite thickly. So again forget what you know about nail polish, thin coats of this won’t work. Get a good bead of it on the end of the brush then swipe it down the nail, moving it gently to cover all of it and DONT LET THE BRUSH TOUCH THE POLISH UNDERNEATH! This will stop it from working and it’ll just peel off. 3 - Seal the edges of the nail! So with whatever is left on your brush after you’ve applied it to the nail go around the tip of the nail to seal it in. This will stop the top coat and polish from shrinking back and leaving the tips bare or prone to chipping. It’s not just a swipe on and go type of product, it has a learning curve but once you’ve got it you’ll never look back. And finally Four - it takes minutes to dry to the touch however it takes 20-25 mins to dry to the point that you can touch it and it won’t wrinkle. So leave it alone. It then takes up-to an hour or more for it to fully harden and set to become dent proof. So don’t wait 10 minutes and start poking at the nail, it will dent. I left mine over an hour and when I remembered to check it nothing could dent my nails. They are solid! All in all it’s an amazing product but it definitely needs to come with better instructions, I was so frustrated with it until I found blog posts explaining how it has to be used and I followed them. My nails are set and hard now, I still had some issues with application because it’s so thick but it’s like anything, once you get the hang of it you’ll be doing it perfectly every time. My nails are so so shiny and I’m excited to see how long they last because traditional polish never lasts more than a day on my hands. I typically have to use gel polishes but they are a pain to do on yourself. I hope this review helps anyone that’s struggled with this product or thinks it doesn’t work. It’s not your fault, the company should provide all this information but for some reason you have to find it yourself. I will continue to use it if it lasts like it promises. I’ll update in a few days time to check in with how it looks.

This is genuinely a great product, and I didn’t think it would work as well as it does. Dries my normal nail varnish in around 5mins - fully dry. I wish the brush head was wider but the coverage is good

I'm only on my second manicure with this top coat, so if my experience changes I'll be sure to update this. BUT, so far this is an AMAZING experience. I can rub my nailas against a towel 5 minutes after application and nothing happens. Nothing. No smearing, no smudging, no texture imprint, nothing. After 5 days of wear, still shiny, no chips, looks absolutely spotless like I've just done my nails. I also find it very easy to apply. Smooth and easy, and although it dries quick I have enough time that multiple strokes blend seamlessly into one layer. I am super impressed. I previously used the essie and opi top coats. Essie was good but didn't last at all after a few weeks from opening. Opi lasted long, but was to soft, so always had imprints and smears as it seemed to keep sllightly liquid for 24 hours. This solves all the things, and I couldn't be happier. I took off my previous manicure after about 5 days because I did a sloppy job with the polish, but will keep the current (much neater) one on as long as possible to test the wear. Will report back! UPDATE: Above photo is my manicure after a full week of wear. As you can see, some tiny patches have come off, but this is still 100% better than any other topcoat I have ever used. I have one tiny scratch on the other hand by way of super sharp fabric scissors, and not even that went all the way through the top coat. I am sold for life.

Best top coat ever. Dry in a minute

Bought this after reading the good reviews.It has proved to do what it actually says! It hardens within seconds approx.10 - 15 in my experience which is a massive bonus if you're in a hurry.Instructions say to apply while naiil colour is still wet. I have,and no,it does not smudge! I've even noticed that if I put the wet brush back into the bottle immediately after applying the colour it does not affect the seche vite the colour is still clear.It does seem to last a reasonably long time although it has varied between 3- 7 days so overall not bad.The only very minor detail I'd point out is that occasionally the tips of my nails sometimes appear to be missing a millimeter or two of varnish but that could be down to me rather than the product.That is the reason for the 4 stars as opposed to 5.However I would say I would still buy again if only for the fact it dries super quick,leaves a decent sheen and is overall really good value for money.

I was sceptical that this would work as advertised but so sick of polish chipping after 2-3 days that I thought I'd give it a go. Having read some of the reviews about application being difficult or it not working, I had a look online first and read that it needs to be applied while the last coat of nail polish is still tacky and that it needs to be applied much more thickly and gently "floated" over the last coat to avoid smearing. I also ignored the reviewers saying that they were "digging in their handbags for keys" after 5 minutes, as I read online that it would be touchable by then but wouldn't be rock solid for 20 minutes. I did an Essie base coat followed by three coats of OPI Kermit Me To Speak and then I applied the Seche Vite top coat. My first attempt was my right pinky finger and you can see in the photos that I was not gentle enough and I managed to smear the polish in the center of the nail and partly remove it. I applied a thicker coat to the rest of my nails and was extra gentle and had no trouble with them. I then waited 5 minutes before testing to see if the Seche Vite had set. By that point, it was definitely touchable but I was able to put a tiny dent into it with a fingernail. I gave it another 20 minutes to fully dry out as I was just watching TV anyway. By then it seemed to have set solid enough for me to go to bed and not worry about getting sheet imprints. By the morning it really seemed to have set solid. I had to press quite hard to get a dent into it with my fingernail. Quite hard to describe the finish - it's not just a super glossy topcoat, it's like there's a protective layer of plastic on the nail. The photos show day one of my manicure on the cream background. The rest of the photos with my blue tablet in the background are after six days of wear. I have a desk job where I do a lot of typing, but I don't do much other manual work other than chores around the house. After 6 days, I didn't notice any difference in the glossiness of the top coat and, on close inspection, the only points of wear were around the very edges of my fingernails mostly on my thumb and index fingers (see photos). From a normal distance, my nails still looked as perfect as the day I did them except for the millimeter or two of growth at the base. I would highly recommend this for prolonging the life of a home manicure and I will be buying the big refill bottle of this for sure.

Keeps nail varnish intact for weeks!

I really wanted to try out this top coat but having read through several reviews I was a little reluctant to try it out, then I read an excellent review which explained exactly how the product works, how to apply it correctly and how to let it cure. Having read through this review I decided to take the plunge and promptly purchased the product. As usual it arrived next day so I eagerly cracked on to try it out. The idea of applying a wet top coat to 'WET' nail polish was daunting however, it was pretty simple to do and having followed the rest of the instructions from the amazon reviewer, I was left with 10 super shiny nails. Five days later and they are still super shiny and no chips or peeling despite using bleach to scrub a sink this morning. I am absolutely thrilled to bits with the product and so thankful that I read through the review left by Ashley July 2021 which gave me the confidence to try out this brilliant product. I can highly recommend it, brilliant value for money and you get super shiny nails in super fast time, I love it

The best top coat on the market. It goes on super thick, which upon first use, seems weird, but that's the way it's supposed to be and it dries really quickly. Within 90 seconds, you'll be able to touch your tails gently with no smudge. This dries hard and protects your polish better than any other top coat. It's not like getting a gel manicure, but it's the greatest product for regular polish. Gives the very best protection against chipping and gives a great shine. It's the only top coat I use. You can find cheaper top coat, but why not use the best on the market?
