Excellent Little Camera With Huge Zoom
I bought this camera because I wanted something pocket-sized for those occasions when I did not wish to lug around my DSLR. Also, for reasons I won't bore you with here, I have been without my DSLR during lockdown, and so have used this little Canon for all my shots. The only drawbacks for me are no RAW capture and no viewfinder. I have yet to become accustomed to looking at the back screen, particularly in bright sunlight. However, the image quality of this camera - for a small camera with a huge, 40X zoom is quite astonishing. I was quite amazed at the detail that this camera picked up at full optical zoom of the moon (see attached shots). Shooting in bright sunlight, one has to be careful not to blow out the sky and other highlights, and I have tended to shoot at - 1/3 of a stop when snapping pics on walks. When all is said and done, the optics on cameras these days is astonishing for the price. I am very happy with this purchase, and see no reason to spend another £100 on the latest model.

Excellent camera!
I bought this camera to take photos on my holidays. Excellent camera, I recommend it for those who don't want to keep taking photos on their mobile. Great zoom, great photos!

This is a very good camera. Excellent zoom etc If you have used a powershot before then you will find this pretty intuitive. The controls are very similar. Just bear in mind that you will probably need to buy a case for it as well as a decent memory card. I use SanDisk cards and have found them to be reliable. I would suggest a 16gb or 32gb ultra or better eg extreme. The standard Canon powershot leather case is a decent fit. Only one complaint - it does not come with a any discs or a cable to transfer photos to your pc. The discs are not a big issue - as long as you have internet access. You can easily download programs from the Canon site. The cable is more of an issue - and a failure by Canon in my opinion. This camera requires a micro HDMI to USB cable to link to a pc. All of my previous cameras used a mini HDMI to USB connection. So I have plenty of those! You will just have to look carefully to find and buy an appropriate cable if you want to download images from the camera to your pc. Not good! BTW, just to be fair, you can probably that your camera card out and insert it your pc in need. But that is far from ideal

Used SX720? It looks brand new !
I had recently made the mistake of ordering a cheap Chinese made digital compact camera for a forthcoming holiday, which when it arrived, was very substandard & old fashioned, so I returned it. Instead I decided to go for a good quality Canon digital camera - but as they don’t appear to be readily available in shops any longer (because of mobile phone cameras), I looked for a decent used model. I checked around and decided on this Canon SX720 because it’s a very good camera, but more importantly the seller is reputable. I was absolutely delighted when the camera arrived, it was well packaged, and it arrived two days ahead of schedule - but I was absolutely amazed and delighted at the condition of the camera as it looks brand new, there was not a mark or blemish on it and the accessories (strap, charger and lead etc) are all in A1 as new condition. What a difference a real quality camera feels like in your hands, even if pre-owned. I’ve made the right choice.

A Welcome compact addition to my Canon Bridge Camera
This Compact Canon is very easy to use. I always adjust my own settings on Programme and never use Automatic and those are very easy to make. This is done by pressing the Function Set Button when the camera is switched on. The settings are then displayed and you can then scroll down and each setting in turn can be adjusted. Others have told me that when Automatic is used the quality of the photos taken is very good. Only can view display from screen at the back of camera and cannot use the viewfinder The photos have good resolution and the zoom control allows a magnification of X40 under normal conditions of focusing and even greater magnification using extra care. It fits into a small carrying case for safety and is ready to use quickly. I have found it to be very useful. .

No cable included
No cable included with this camera which is VERY VERY frustrating. I excitedly went out taking photos only to fine my self home with absolutely NO WAY of getting photos from camera to computer. ONLY camera I have ever bought that does not include a cable. Has put me right off ever recommending this or getting another canon. Sitting at home, no cable, no card reader and no way to see the photos I've spent all day taking. Quite an expensive camera for the price I would expect a cable, other cameras that are much cheaper have always included a cable.

Love this camera
Love this camera. Previously had a Sony DSC-HX60 which did continuous shoot, but it was very slow and once it was building the shoots you couldn't take any more, with this one hold the button done for a few seconds you get lots of pictures, release the button and it saves the photos in seconds and you can take pictures again straight away. We thought it was the SD card which was making the Sony slow, but we used the same card in this camera and there wasn't a problem The menus are really easy to navigate and I was able to connect it to my phone/ipad and upload the photos/videos really easily. It is as small as a compact camera but the photos are bright and colourful, and it focused very fast even in low light. I was impressed I was able to photograph fireworks and my son and husband on a jetski whizzing by at 40 mph from the shoreline and still have in focus shoots.

Poor image quality in low-light conditions
The image quality is poor in low-light conditions. When I say the images are poor, I don't mean that they are completely terrible, I mean that they are not acceptable for a camera in this price range. The images also have an unnatural yellow tint in low-light conditions. The image viewing display on the rear is grainy when zooming in. There is a USB slot but no USB cable is supplied. The battery is small with low capacity. The pop-up flash is rather clunky and has to be elevated with a small switch on the side and pushed down manually. A booklet is supplied (in 22 languages) but it only describes how to insert the memory and battery and switch it on - everyone who buys a camera in this price range will be able to do that without instructions - the booklet doesn't describe the modes and settings, although this can be found online. I thought for ages before ordering this camera and decided to order it when I read the good reviews here, but I was disappointed. I quickly returned the camera to Amazon.
