Perfect waffles.
We’ve only had this a couple of days so can’t speak for longevity but I’m really pleased we bought this particular product. It looks well built and produces perfect waffles. We tried two of the recipes in the book that comes with it (one sweet, one savoury) and both came out really good, although I find they yield more than what the recipe says...which is a good thing! The plates are easy to clean. The non-stick works great, it’s a breeze to get the waffles out. It takes 5-6min to warm up and then 4-5min for each batch. The waffles are thick and crispy and just the right colour. We can’t wait to experiment more with the other recipes. We did return the first one we bought because it didn’t work so it was probably just a dud. Now waiting for a refund while we enjoy the waffles from the second one.

Looks Good - Makes great Waffles & Chaffles 😋
Super easy to use, removable plates for washing. Looks good too. Nice and sturdy, makes BIG waffles/chaffles. (Though you can make them smaller by not adding less mix)

This has definitely improved my breakfast life.
I don't understand the negative reviews here. I make georgous waffles with this, and I am anything but a keen cook! However I spend my life surrounded by machines of all types. Maybe you need to be a bit techy to use this properly. But this Cuisinart has definitely improved my breakfast life. Two nice features which set this apart from other waffle makers, are (1) the overflow channel and (2) the shallow depth. (1) Most other waffle makers don't have an overflow channel, so when you pour in the mixture enough to definitely make a good waffle, the inevitable overflow goes all over the worktop. After all, we are human and can't judge this to the millilitre. But on this Cuisinart, that overflow just goes into the overflow channel. It also gets cooked there so you can still eat it if you like! (2) The body of the waffle maker is not much bigger than the oblong waffle plates. The handle sticks out, but it is also a fair bit above the worktop. Consequently, you can push this unit back against the splashback, and it will only consume a small amount of space on your worktop. In other words, it does not waste your worktop real estate. You can also clip it shut and put it upright on its back end, as with other waffle makers, and then it also takes up little space, but you also end up looking at its bottom all the time. Well, I'd rather just have it flat on the worktop where it can't fall over, and it looks cool. Now, why did it lose 1 star? The same reason for some of the negative reviews I guess. The instructions tell you to fill your waffle mixture, close the lid, then clip it shut. This is to ensure that the top plate meets the bottom plate so you get a nicely formed waffle. This is fine for some mixes but not for others! For example, if you use potato flour with egg, (absolutely delicious by the way), it will expland massively. The force is sufficient to break the handle! So for that mix, I will never clip the handle. What happens if you don't clip the handle shut? In that case, the upper surface of the waffle will be slightly (only slightly) less cooked than the lower surface, because the latter has gravity helping it to make contact with the hot plate surface. I am still experimenting. One possibility is to wait a while before clipping the lid. All the expansion is in the first few minutes, so after that you can clip the lid (if its still possible) and nothing is going to get broken. Another option is to just accept a slight difference between top and bottom of the waffle, then you can put the best looking face sunny side up. Another option is to flip the waffle over, half way through (yes, you can do that without any problems). Anyway, you get the idea. This waffle making needs a bit of thinking over, but its well worth it. BTW, please try not to put sugar in your waffles, and please try making them with things like millet flakes, rye flour, ground almonds, etc. This new breakfast is supposed to make you feel healthier, not laden your metabolism with a sugar bomb! You can just laddle maple sysrup or honey on at the end, to give it a sweet kick, and that together with blueberries or mashed banana should be enough to keep anyone happy :-)

Excellent build quality
Comes highly recommended! Very sturdy, robust item; excellent quality. It is very easy to use and produces perfect waffles every time - crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I make the sweet waffles which are detailed on the recipe book which accompanies this waffle maker. Top marks in every regard!

Could be better
CONS: There’s no temperature control (a big problem for me), nor a timer. It’s hard to tell whether the light on top is on or not unless you’re right above it and shade it with your palm. The on/off button is really loose. I’d like the heated surface to be ceramic, not Teflon like. PROS: The plates are removable for washing. There’s an extra overflow channel. Waffles are big size. It’s more powerful than many other waffle makers.

If you like waffles - you'll LOVE this!
Love having this in the house as it means I can have Waffle House quality waffles when ever I fancy them! They give you plenty of recipes to chose from and there are loads more online so you've got plenty of choice. It's easy to use and easy to clean and makes great waffles! Cooks quickly but the only downside is it only makes 2 at a time - could be better if you could make 4 at a time.

failed shortly after delivery
This item was purchased as a present from my daughter-in-laws wish list. The item worked four times after which the on-off switch failed. The Amazon market place trader 'George and Freddie' have refused to accept it as a return because the failure occurred after their 30 day time limit for returns. The Office of Fair Trading's "A Guide for Businesses distance selling" advises a period of six months in section 3.68 of this Guidance; quoted below: If goods develop a fault within the first six months of being sold, the law presumes that the fault was there when you sold the goods – unless you can show otherwise. You should not charge return costs for goods that have been rejected because they are faulty. The seller's response upon being notified of this fault, was for the user to arrange for repair under the terms of the manufacturers guarantee. Given this response, I would strongly recommend potential buyers using Amazon market place traders check before purchasing any goods, as whether or not they accept OFT's guidance on failure within 6 months of purchase, otherwise they will be left with the problem of arranging for the repair themselves. I will be checking traders returns policy from now on, and if they don't accept OFT's Guidance, I won't be purchasing any goods from them.
