Very good value for money. These will cut a wide variety of materials from soft wood to hard ceramic tiles. Under hard use the disk gets hot and the plastic washers around the mounting screw go soft and the disk slips - therefore just dont bother using the washers or replace with steel ones. I find that for cutting ferrous metals standard nylon reinforced cutting disks are significantly quicker and generate less heat then these ones. However, these are a useful addition to your tool kit. As someone else wrote, a larger diameter disk would be useful for deeper cuts.ADDED 6 MONTHS LATER: Still impressed with these. Good for cutting a wide variety of plastics without causing significant melting around the cut, unlike the mini circular saws I used to use. A bargain at this price!

I needed to cut some small ceramic mosaic tiles to size. Scribing and breaking did not work well - the breaks ran off the lines at the ends, because the lines were not perpendicular to the edges. Using these disks I was easily and quickly able to cut through the glaze exactly where I wanted, and got perfect breaks. The actual cuts were very narrow and clean - the sharp edges were easily made safer using the sides of the disks. They lasted well, too.

I have bought a variety of cutting discs for my Dremel and been disappointed with them all, they either wear out very quicky, break, overheat and burn the workpiece, or simply just not cut, irrespective of the material being cut. Sound familiar?These discs were bought on impulse and chucked in a box and forgotten about until today, when I had been trying to remove a couple of 8mm bolts and nuts which were fastening two steel bars together and were siezed to the extent I couldn't move them (in situ on the underside of a Land Rover so access was a compounding factor). After a bit of head scratching I remembered these discs and decided to give them a go, without any high expectations. I found that the disc fitted easily in the 1-2mm gap between the plates, and successfully managed to cut both bolts with the minimum of effort in, I'd guess, just over a minute each. No showers of sparks, no excessive overheating, just a nice clean cut. Afterwards, comparing the disc I used with the remaining new ones it appears that there is no wear on the disc at all. I am absolutely delighted with this result.I have dropped one star in my rating because, although I had no trouble this time, I have had bad experiences in the past with this particular type of screw mounting on other tools and I concur with previous reviewers that this is a weak point in the assembly and is likely to fail eventually. However similar compatible mountings can be bought from various manufacturers so it shouldn't be a showstopper if the screw breaks or whatever, as long as the disc isn't damaged.Interesting thought - it says on the box "guaranteed forever" - if they reckon these discs will last forever why do they think you're going to need 5 of them in the pack? Go figure.

Purchased several packs of these discs in August 2014 - they were excellent quality and great value. Re-ordered same quantity in August 2015 on that basis and have just started using the new batch 3 weeks ago - Silverline has obviously changed the specs on this product - they are NOT the same discs as pictured in the listing. The diamond coating is far narrower and thinner and wears off after a few minutes use - basically not much good and now represents poor value. Shame - I'll have to look elsewhere as I have used all the recent batch of discs in 3 weeks instead of 52!

Bought this for a “one off” small kitchen project. Did the job and was useful cutting out shapes for sockets in metro tiles. Faster than using a tile saw. Used a tile file after to tidy up the edges. Small red grip washers did not last long but still worked after tightening screw, but screw then eventually sheared! Used only 2 of the supplied discs. I would prefer 2 sets of washers and screw instead of so many discs. (Note discs are only 20mm and the chuck might be wider on some drills so limits reach if no extension.)

Brilliant cutting discs. Used them on the stainless steel tip of my exhaust. Takes a while get through stainless but the disc doesn't even look warn at all. Only minor issue was the heat was enough to melt the little washers so the disc came loose. After tightening back up it worked perfectly fine without them. Great product and so cheap. Can't fault it really.

So I took the plunge on these to see if they would cut off the rivets on my motorcycle chain (Honda VFR 400 NC30) even though I asked the question on here and it wasn't really a positive response that I hoped for. My logic was that its called a diamond cutting disc, so should surely be able to handle a little bit of metal? The answerYes! Slotted one into my Silverline multi function rotary tool (also bought on here at the same time) and set about shaving off the rivets to get my Motrax chain breaker & riveter tool in there to push it out (also bought the Motrax tool on here). I didn't have my multi tool on full power, just about medium, and let the disc do the work. Few minutes later and the link was nice and flush. I've never tried breaking a chain before but after my 1st attempt I will definitely be doing it again as its so simple!Looking at the disc I used afterwards, I can't see any wear on it! Most people buy these for other reasons (not motorcycle chains) but if someone comes along like I did, I hope this helps them and give them the confidence to buy these mighty little discs! Can't imagine ill need to buy anymore for years probably, but I'd recommend these to others, as well as the other items I bought to get the job done!

Ho provato questi splendidi dischi, devo dire che sono rimasto stupefatto, capacità di taglio su legno e metallo impressionante, ho fatto una prova su infisso in alluminio (non allumino scadente ma di qualità molto resistente e non tenero) che andava in battuta molto elevata con l'altra parte della porta finestra in alluminio, ho montato il disco sul mio proxxon e ho lavorato per circa 30 minuti con circa 5 pause da 1 secondo giusto il tempo per valutare l'andamento della rettifica, conclusione ho usato il disco in modo continuato e pesante smerigliando e tagliando, contro le mie aspettative a fine lavoro il disco é risultato poco consumato (sono rimasto sbalordito) ed ho eseguito un lavoro perfetto, devo affermare dischi di qualità eccelsa costano poco e valgono molto di più, certo bisogna saperli usare ma con questi dischi anche una persona non del mestiere fa fatica a consumarli, e sono sicuro che anche su pietra e mattoni sono ottimi usando il giusto numero di giri del minitrapano, parlo da professionista e per me sono ottimi chi dice che non sono buoni evidentemente non ha la mano, consiglio l'acquisto veramente ottimo

Era consciente que con este precio no iba a obtener mucho, pero quería estos discos de corte para un trabajo y ya esta. No valen ni para esto, se han roto solo de mirarlos. No los recomiendo para nada.
