Gibsons 221B Baker Street Mystery Game
Good, interesting game to play with adults. Clues like those used in crosswords. Think that 10 year olds might struggle to work out the clues.

Awesome game!
Bought as a gift for teenage granddaughter who loves everything Sherlock at present time. This game has become a family favourite and we all enjoy playing it, though some clues can be a bit more difficult and for that reason we prefer to play as teams as opposed to individual. If you like playing Cluedo and logic games, then this game is for you.

Sturdy box and équipement inside
Condition nee. Sturdy box and équipement inside. We (my daughter 15years old and I her mum) started playing trying to resolve first crime. But it is very hard. A party lasts at least 30min. The rules are very easy to follow, and the actual playing is fun: no complications there. However, having collected all the clues and then actually resolving the mystery in all its completeness is very challenging. I suppose the more we play the more we’ll get into’mode Detective’. A good imagination helps a lot. This game is definitely more orientated fir adults than kids (16 or more) due to its complexity in finding the real (word for word) solutions...or for the brainy kids. But it’s fun, cognitive, imaginative and good quality. Will give it another try.

Satiated the detective inside of you
Very unique game to play with the whole family. If you're into brain games this will give you that intellectual challenge. Even as an adult I need all of the clues until I can make an educated guess. For my kids who enjoy detective books they find it enjoyable even though it's challenging and not as predictable as their books. Game play time is about an hour. Because theirs only one book and one card for each player to refer back to, this makes the game last longer having to share the book to write the clue. So what we did it take a picture on our phones of the story card and as for the booklet had to share that, it would've been nice to have 2 books or a qr code to print off another copy.

Great game to play with others!
This game is a lot of fun, it’s essentially a more complex version of cluedo. Me and my girlfriend can spend hours playing. we play against each other (and maybe give up and work together) trying to be the first person to figure out the case. There is a lot of cases to go through so you won’t run out any time soon! You need to develop a strategy of which locations to visit first and whether to leave some for later. On average I’ve found a game (depending on how many tasks we have) lasts around 45 minutes to an hour.

Great alternative to Cluedo
love the game, for years I've thought about how the game Cluedo could be improved, but never really done anything about it and here we are with Gibsons take on the detective game. Every time you play the story is different, the clues are different and the solutions are different. You do have to read and think about the known facts, or story line carefully and you can't take all of the clues at face value. The game can be tweaked a little to make it even better, for instance you can effectively tape off an area to prevent others from entering a place to get the clue by placing a card on it, which is exactly what would happen in real life. However, the game rules suggest you'd need a blocking card for every entrance when in real life the whole area would be out of bounds until the police had finished gathering evidence. Therefore we decided you should only need one card to block the park or the docks and only one key card to allow entry to get the clue. Sounds complicated, but it's not in practice. Another is the use of the carriage, or cabbie. You can use them to go anywhere, but the instructions suggest an exception should be 221b Baker Street. We decided you could use a cabbie to 221b, but only to the door. You can't enter till your next go. These variations seem to work for us and I'm sure there could be others. Overall, a really good and intriguing board game.

A Dastardly Game Afoot!
This is a mixture of a Cluedo like game and the Sherlock Holmes Puzzle Collection book. I would have preferred it to have come in a smaller box - the board folds down square so I'm not sure of the point of the unwieldy size of the box. The board shows a Cluedo like maze of buildings rather than rooms and it only takes one or two plays to see the quickest way round. The cases are dastardly and it is essential to make notes because there are a lot of characters with a lot of traits and a lot of clues to keep track of. It is very thought provoking and the answer can pivot on one tiny clue so one must pay attention to everything offered. We love the Sherlock Holmes head playing pieces. The board itself could be clearer - it could prove difficult in low light or for the partially sighted but I am sure it was drawn to reflect the Victorian period. The game itself - we found the first time we played it a bit drawn out because we were unfamiliar with it and that delayed us from a second game but the second game was most enjoyable because we had the measure of the basics and could concentrate on the point of the game. This would make a great gift for any fan of the great Arthur Conan Doyle and his muse Sherlock Holmes.

Fun, clever and thought-provoking board game!
Awesome game, that's aimed more at adults and older children, though my six year old niece is very intrigued by it and enjoys joining in when she can. We tend to play as a group as it's really fun trying to work out all the clues, motives etc together as it allows us to air out ideas openly. We haven't been brave enough to go it alone yet but it would both make it longer to play each round and add another level to the game as you try to slow down your opponents from solving the crime before you. Overall a well thought out game that really makes you think and becomes rather addictive. With a great range of mysteries to solve, that progressively appear to get harder the further through the pack you get. We all loved it!!

This game is super fun, I often just play it with a group of people working together just because the mysteries are so entertaining to figure out.
