Minecraft (Xbox 360)

If you have never played Minecraft, imagine it as computerized Lego. I first saw my son playing it and after having a go I could hardly stop playing it. Essentially a building game, you can break (mine) square blocks of different types (e.g. dirt, cobblestone, coal ore, iron ore, gold etc) collect other items (wood, food from animals/grass etc) and use all to make (craft) other items you can then use to survive (at night come monsters (zombies, creepers, skeletons, spiders amongst others). Some resources are plentiful, others are rare so you have to go looking, meantime working out how to get food, keep safe from the monsters and discovering new places. There is also a creative mode where all resources are unlimited with no dangers so you can craft what you want. You can also link up with friends online to share worlds and resources. Highly, highly addictive game, with virtually unlimited play.

BTW: I bought this on the 6th July 2013 and it arrived on the 9th July 2013. I bought this not because I did not have access to the Internet on my Xbox 360 but because I prefere having things on Disc and I already had Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition using Xbox Arcade. About the game, Minecraft is an addictive sandbox game where you play in a world where you can do what you want with, it has chickens and cows and stuff and is friendly at day time. At night time however it isn't as nice, Monsters such as Creepers (A monster that silently creeps up to you and blows up in an attempt to kill you, it also breaks the surrounding area with in a small radius) and Zombies patrol the night. Minecraft is a good game and I recommend anyone to play this as its fun and lets your creativity go wild.

My review will start after this small disclaimer: -Unlike the PC version, where you can walk literally for hours, and the world is almost never-ending, this console version isn't! The world is not that big, you could run from one end to the other in about 15 minutes, where you then come across invisible walls! :( Because of this miniature biomes are usually squeezed into one map, taking away the feeling of a huge world. If you have never played the PC version, then this probably won't bother you, you'll probably think that the world is huge. Bear this in mind before buying. My Review: Minecraft is a game limited only by what you can imagine. It's like being in one giant Lego set of never-ending bricks. It's basically about doing whatever you want. The game has no linear campaign, no kind of story, or even any mandatory objectives, yet it is still very enjoyable. The only problem with having no story is that after a while you begin to realize that the game doesn't really go anywhere, you just build things. So it looks simple, but underneath it's quite complex. If you feel like a challenge, you can play in survival mode, where you'll have to build a hut [monsters come out at night] find food, build weapons etc. Or if you're the creative type, you can play creative mode to build a big castle, a large house, a skyscraper, or anything else you fancy. Children will love this game, and quite a lot of adults will too. You can play splitscreen with 2-4 people on one console [HDTV required], or up to about 10 people online. I'd definitely recommend this game, it will kill hours of spare time!

still waiting for mine to be delivered, being new to minecraft trying the trial on xbox live though made me want to play more as it is rather addictive and fun , also very refreshing to see a game that focuses on gameplay and not just graphics for a change :). for people who have played more and know more: i read they are updating this version to at least mincraft version 1.2.3 - which will includes horses and some other pc features that was left out in the 360 version From what i can tell you about the trial: Crafting system very well suited to xbox (no need for wikis while playing, pretty much does it for you on 360 version) First 10 mins i spent thinking "wtf" 20 mins i was like oh wow lol , 30 mins trial ended and had to buy.

Got this for my 9yr old daughter and I'm now convinced she will grow up to be an amazing architect. I have to tear her away from her many building projects. I was amazed that she would entertain the very dated graphics but she seems enthralled by it all. 2021 update - my daughter is currently at college doing a T level in construction, she just got a distinction* for her very 1st assignment and is planning to continue on to university to do architecture. And she still enjoys playing the game with her online friends. 2022 update - she's applied to study architectural technology at Nottingham Trent or Derby Uni, this is a good 2 and a half hrs drive away and I'm totally not happy about my baby girl leaving home. For this reason I definitely no longer recommend this game for your children, unless you want rid of them.... 2024 update - totally bragging but my daughter only went and got the highest mark in the country for her t' level in professional construction. Unfortunately this meant that she secured her place at Nottingham Trent and is in her 2nd term doing a degree in Architectural Technology and still playing Minecraft. I miss her like mad but I'm so frigging proud of her 🖤🖤🖤

I give this item a five star rating because both my son and grandson play this game, sometimes alone and at times together. They are both very adamant that a game works the way it is suppose to or it is no good. I ask my son if there were any issues with this item and was told no, I asked my grandson the same question and was also told no, it is a great game and works as it should , so I'll say this item is (A ONE), thank you for the item.

It was not a full download of Minecraft game but it is a story mode game with limited playing scope. This is simply a cheating from the vendor.
