What can you see with this telescope if used correctly? Planets? Nebulae? Galaxies?

This is my first telescope and have had this about year, I live about 4 miles from Manchester city centre UK so light pollution pretty bad. However what a telescope I love it. I have great views of Jupiter , Saturn Mars and Venus. Have good views of The Orion Nebulae ( bearing in mind its not the Hubble ) can see other nebulae faintly, though these views would improve in less light polluted areas. Can make out the disc shape of andromeda. There's still plenty more to see, I have upgraded the eyepieces plossls.

How does this telescope compare with the astromaster 130eq-mdand which is better as a first time telescope

The 130EQ-MD is the better of the two. The 130 does not use a corrector lens in the focuser so make up for a cheaply produces spherical mirror and it also has a slightly more substantial mount and a motor to drive the RA axis so you don't need to manually follow the target.
