OBL1820S 18V ONE+ Cordless Blower (Battery & Charger Excluded)

Surprisingly good. As a tool with a comparatively small battery I didn't expect much from this blower but thought it would be enough to get leaves off the stones in my small garden. It is actually quite a strong stream of air which blasted wet leaves around for me in a very satisfying way. Of course the battery won't do a large area but that's only to be expected with such small batteries. Light, powerful and easy to use!

Lightweight yet fairly powerful. I brought this as I can’t lift my petrol leaf blower at the moment. It’s not as powerful obviously as my petrol blower but does a good job. Thankfully I’ve got several batteries because with a large garden I definitely needed them. Really easy to store as it comes apart with a push of a button and just as easy to assemble. All in all a great machine back and shoulder saving with the weight and size, great value just really happy with my purchase!

I purchased this product in anticipation of the forthcoming Autumn season where my property is subject to many leaves. So far I have tried this following cutting the lawn where the cut grass spills onto my patio. Overall, the leaf blower works very well to blow away the grass cuttings with ease. The airflow is very powerful for such a small unit. The unit itself is easy to assemble - you clip 2 parts onto the body - the way these clip are via pre-cut slots which makes it very easy to assemble and disassemble. The assembled unit is light to hold and therefore easy to handle. I very much look forward to the Autumn now as I know that based on the performance that I have seen, the management of fallen leaves will be very easy for me! Why not a 5-Star? Would of liked to have seen a power setting that could alter the flow and volume of air.

The freedom of movement is excellent — no cord to trip over and I can easily reach under hedges, along fence lines and around the patio without being tied to a socket. • The weight and balance are very manageable — I found I could use it for 15‑20 minutes and not feel overly fatigued, which is better than many older bulky petrol or corded models. • Good performance on general tasks: On my patio, driveway and around garden beds it cleared leaves, grass clippings and light debris quickly. • Build quality is solid — the blower feels well‑constructed, buttons are responsive, size and design are perfect and both easy to assemble and use. Another excellent product from RYOBI- LEAF BLOWER- light weight, excellent value for money, easy to use, keeps my patio clean, saved so much physical labour time,powerful, could use other RYobi batteries. Battery does run out quickly. not sure it is our old RYOBI batteries. very pleased with product.

The Ryobi OBL 1820S ONE+ cordless blower was bought in a bundle with the RC18120 compact charger and a RB18L40 4Ah battery for a slight saving on the cost of a battery. It does not allow one to vary the power, but it is only just powerful enough anyway, and a lower power would never be used. On/Off is sufficient. It is excellent blowing light items such as dry leaves and dust, but struggles with heavier more dense wet leaves and piles of heavy acorns (solid oak = heavy) when a mains powered blower was much happier and didn’t run out of juice. Fortunately the oak tree only drops its 200kg of acorns almost all at once in the year, but leaves happen for much longer and are much more effort to sweep than acorns, and this is when a blower comes into its own. With a 4Ah battery mounted the balance is about right, and ideal for someone between 1.70 and 1.75 metres tall to stand upright, arm relaxed, and without dragging the nozzle on the ground. The 4Ah battery lasts for about fifteen to twenty minutes of blowing before needing a recharge. The charger stays cool during the three hours required to fully recharge the battery. Taking this long suggests the battery has a big capacity for charge, at least 4Ah, maybe a fair bit more. Addendum 13th April 2023 Simply by tapping it against a step by accident, I managed to split the add-on tip of the nozzle; it fell in two halves along the two seams. However some excellent Stormsure glue has fixed it. See my pic with the cable ties holding it while the glue set. Addendum 14th December 2024 Beware when using some of the aftermarket batteries. I’ve found that the sustained high current draw from using this blower continuously can trip the overheat breaker in them, and they do not recover. A slightly lower pitch than usual on the motor noise with a freshly charged new battery is a clue suggesting it has a higher internal resistance, and therefore more internal heating. Other brands seem OK including my Ryobi pair.

We had one prior to this, but it broke after I dropped it from 10ft in the air. This one was the original design and I love it. The power on it is fantastic considering it is better operated. Almost no weight so it is easy to carry around without causing strain.
