Does the job alright. For the price, I can recommend this product.
In this review I am going to mention what I liked and what I didn’t like about Bodum Travel Press - Black Colour.Price:The price is quite reasonable for a travel mug. Given that you are also provided with a normal lid that you could also use.Quality:The quality of the cup is fair. I mean given the price point, you get what you pay for. The stainless steel provides good insulation from heat, you don’t actually have to hold the cup on the sleeve.Temp?I am a slow coffee drinker. I like to take my time in drinking and this cup lets the coffee stay hot or even lukewarm for hours.Coffee-grounds?If you hate the crunching coffee beans or the taste of coffee grounds, you won’t be disappointed. It is until you reach the very end that you’d taste that.Leak-proof?We need to agree that this is not a flask. The lid might not be up to the quality level that I would have expected but it is fine. It will only leak if you fill the cup to the lid, otherwise, it wouldn’t leak easily. The hole in the lid is necessary due to the possibility of over-pressuring.Origin:Not mentioned but I can guess it being manufactured in China.I used Bodum products for a long time, mostly, they are manufactured in Europe; so, I was kinda disappointed. (In case you are wondering, yes, I do care a lot about where the product is manufactured ).~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Pros:Good Heat Insulation. Coffee stays warm for hours. Good quality stainless steel. Reasonable coffee filtration.Cons:The rubber seal falls off easily so you need to be careful with it. In essence, the main issue is with the lid.**** (But it does the job) ****Overall:For a fair priced and decent quality product I can recommend this product. You can surely find other products, but the price will be higher.

MUCH better than Bodum's first effort, but not quite flawless
I bought the old version of Bodum's Travel Press a couple of years ago and while it was undoubtedly a handy piece of kit (and one that I still use occasionally), it wasn't without its faults. At 0.25 litres, it didn't hold enough water to make what I would consider to be a full mug of coffee and I had to fill it almost to overflowing to get enough of a drink from it. It was a double-wall plastic design, and the two sections came apart after only a few months - although it was still usable, it wouldn't keep drinks warm for any period of time. The plastic that the inner section was made from was plainly not substantial enough to hold hot water and this was proved when it cracked and started leaking not long after the inner and outer sections had separated. This version of the Travel Press is plainly an immediate improvement over the old one. Not only is it made from double-wall steel rather than plastic - so hopefully preventing the leaking problem - but the volume has been upped to 0.35 litres, which is more than enough for a mug or large cup. A rubber gripping band is secured to the outside of the Press to make it easier to hold and while it does work I don't particularly like the feel of the rubber or the knobbly writing on it. The base of the Press has a similar rubber patch stuck to it and this is really quite effective at stopping it from slipping about on a smooth surface like a desk or worktop. All in all, it's a far better design than the original Press, so it does seem that Bodum have been listening to owners' comments and have acted on them. There are a few other small design changes but in pretty much all other respects, this version works just the same as the old one; you unscrew the cap, put the desired amount of ground coffee into the press, fill it up with hot water and then put the cap back on. Then, after having left your drink to brew for a few minutes, you press down on the plunger on the top, then open the pouring spout and either pour your coffee out or drink it straight from the Press. You can't fully open the spout while the plunger is up as it flips out over the plunger top; this isn't much of a problem as you won't be opening the spout while the plunger is up, but you may decide to close it while the coffee is brewing and before you press the plunger down, so making sure that it's closed before putting the water in is a good idea.In both form and function, the Travel Press operates very much like a cafetière - a rubber-and-plastic, sieve-like disk at the bottom of the plunger pushes the coffee to the bottom of the press as you press down on it, holding the grounds at the bottom as you drink or pour the coffee out. Like the old version, the finest granules do get through the mesh of the sieve so as any seasoned user will tell you, it's best not to drink the bottom centimetre or so of the coffee you pour out unless you really like the taste of `bits'. I use my Press really only as a way to make `proper' coffee at work rather than as a way to transport it out and about, mostly because the spout isn't quite as leak-proof as one might hope and some coffee will come out if the Press is held upside-down. Bodum supplies a second, plunger-less top with the Press that's equally as ineffective as the first at keeping the drink contained. This is a shame, because the Press will keep coffee hot for a good couple of hours; the exterior is cool to the touch even with near-boiling water inside, so the insulation does seem to be quite effective. When I reviewed the original Travel Press, I gave it three stars because while it was pretty good at the job of making coffee, it was evidently less tough than it should have been and this became apparent when it started leaking after relatively little use. This version is a far better design with a couple of small issues that detract only slightly from the overall experience. It's a better proposition than the original and a fine thing if you only want to make, as opposed to carry around, a nice cup of coffee.

Hot!
Love this. The coffee press is great and it works really well - the mug keeps drinks very hot for ages. To test it I pre warmed the cup and made black tea then left it for 1 hour 40 mins. It was still scalding hot after this time. The design of the mug and lid is good - you can push the opening flap back so it clicks locked when you are drinking which stops it bashing you on the nose and I love the fact I can use it for coffee or tea by just switching the lids over. The stainless steel doesn't taint the drink however there is a slight taste of plastic from the lid but I'm hoping that after a bit of use the 'new plastic' taste will disappear. Of course it isn't 100% leakproof so I wouldn't carry in my bag as it does need to be kept upright but it's great for using around the home or at work and in the car. I recommend this cup for anyone wanting a versatile travel cup that does the most important job of keeping your hot drinks hot.

Good quality..lasted years
I purchased mine in 2014, option with the cafetiere press and travel mug lid. It's lasted well, with regular use each winter. It's metal, sontheres some dinks and scratches where it's been dropped. After years of Use, there's staining on the inside. Thats ti be expected. It's keeps drinks warm on the commute to work. It's not spill proof.

For all coffee lovers, this is exactly what you need
This is the second one I've bought now so I can say my review is genuine. The filter is everlasting, I've had one of these for 3 years now and I use it every moring on the way to work and it's no different. I bought another one so my wife had one. The appearance is good, and for cleaning it, it all comes apart. I've had no leaks on the seals, the flip over clasp for when not using it while in transit is spot on. I can fill mine up today, turn it over and it doesn't drip/leak after 3 years of use and that's saying something. Its easky to use, you can leave it brewing for as long as you desire. Its lightweight as well, I would highly recomend it.

Excellent one-cup French Press
I'm a 'night owl' so I use this instead of my noisy bean-to-cup machine to make a decaf late at night / in the early hours. It is excellent, so easy to use, I am so glad I bought it.Boil some water then leave it to stand for a minute or two (boiling water burns the coffee and makes it very bitter), pour water over a scoop of coffee grounds in the flask and stir. Put the lid on (with plunger up), wait three to five minutes then slowly press plunger down. Milk can be added afterwards through the flipped-up part of the lid. I find the coffee stays hot for at least three or four hours. Some reviewers have complained about coffee left in the bottom of the flask with the grounds. I find there's usually a small mouthful of coffee under the plunger. Easy solution: flip open the lid and pull up the plunger just far enough so you can still drink from the flask. I've used this flask every day for about two weeks now and never had any coffee grounds 'escaping' past the plunger, even when I lift the plunger a little to drain that last mouthful of coffee. It is very easy to clean also. Unscrew the lid and the coffee grounds can be tipped out or scooped out with a spoon (mine go into the kitchen compost bin). The plunger mesh can be unscrewed from the stem for a thorough clean. The extra regular lid is a bonus for coffee on the go. The flask is fine in a cup-holder although not for carrying around in a bag as it is not completely leak-proof.

Great traveller
I'm quite happy with how well made and thought out this mug is. The tolerances on it are good and it's built in such a way that any nooks and crannies that might be a problem when cleaning are easy to clean.Even the finish was better than expected.
