Chef's PSA: Culinary Leadership Fundamentals

currently a new sous chef with limited kitchen experience. this book is a wonderful start for my culinary journey. I already learned a few of these fundamentals (from both good and bad examples) but it’s nice to have the ideas validated. I really appreciate the effort the author put into this because it also helps me understand my role in my team. thank you, chef andré natera!

I initially purchased the Kindle version to have some light reading on hand. I soon realized that this is such an invaluable resource for any potential leaders in my kitchen and other boh staff that I purchased a few hard copies to give out. I am confident that I've been a good leader over the years and mentored and led by example, but there's so much practicality packed in such a small package it's hard not to share. Chef's PSA Culinary Leadership Fundamentals really complements (and even supplements) my style! This book brings awareness to kitchens' nuances and demands, and it is an invaluable tool for new and upcoming leaders. Bravo, Chef Andre.

I’ve been listening to Andre’s podcast for about a year, but if he were to have narrated his book with correct tone, inflection and emphasis, I would have rated five stars. At many points the narrators voice was so soft and gentle that I could’ve fallen asleep. Otherwise, good advice from stories He mentioned on his podcast as well. It’s very real when he mentions his success as well as his failures, persistence is the key in trying to be better every day in life.

Can’t recommend enough. I refer this book to anyone looking to step into leadership roles in the industry. It’s also a great refresher for those of us currently in management/leadership positions . Definitely check it out. It’s an investment into your future, not just a book.

This book is great for anyone wanting some insight on how to run a kitchen. This book is for cooks, managers, chefs, owners, Director of Operations etc. its a great read, very well written.A must buy
