Comprehensive GCSE AQA English Literature revision guide with study notes, practice questions, and expert advice for student success. Includes free online edition. Review: Good GCSE book - Good book for GCSE Review: A Focused Guide on the GCSE - This is a very well presented revision guide indeed. Plenty use is made of colour, font and layout to help the text grab the attention of the user in a way that helps the reader take the info in. They are very easy to read. The book is broken up into sections, the first being about 'exam basics' - writing well, punctuation and grammar - all stuff that helps the examiner understand the candidate's paper - a major part of getting a good grade. Then the focus moves to the type of literature - drama, poetry etc., with guides on how to approach these the ideal way in each case. There are plenty of examples of questions and answers in this 136 page guide - all it seems based on the upper end type grades. The user will of course have to put their own hard earned knowledge of their studied texts to work, but at least they will know how to write at a very high level in order to get a good grade. All the candidate has to do is to use the same analytical and interpretative methods suggested in this guide on the texts that they have studied and prepare their own revision notes using the guide as a template. The examples also include how the paper actually looks including the front sheet as well as demystifying the types of questions that will occur in the exam- more than enough to get you through. Excellent value for money. Any one using this revision as part of their exam prep is in with an excellent chance . And even if you are not taking an exam, the pointers and advice about how to work through the different literature types under study are useful just for your general knowledge. Highly recommended.
