Not for us long- legged freaks
I must be some sort of circus freak, judging by all the 5 star reviews.I ordered the 32 Long, and yes, the waist and length are fine. But they're almost painfully tight in the crotch (and sorry ladies, there's not a whole lot taking up room down there). The other issue I have is with the kneepads. These trousers were obviously designed for people with short legs, because the kneepads fit halfway up my thigh when I'm kneeling- which is about as useless as it can get.Apart from that, they've got lots of little pockets which you'll be constantly hunting through, and two big flappy pockets that will tempt you into showing off the old trouser-elephant gag in front of co-workers.In conclusion then- if you've got wee stumpy legs, like stashing stuff around your person like a demented squirrel and enjoy freaking out the new kid, then crack on. But for everyone else, I'd suggest Mascot if you can afford it, and Dickies if you can't. (I'll be buying Dickies by the way...sadface)

not good
scruffs, what are you doing,1st trade trousers, the best i have bought. then you stop these and run with trade 3d trousers, the worse i have ever hadnow worker plus trousers, no tool hanger on the pockets, no pen and pencil pockets on the trousers, the Velcro pad seals on the knee pads, like having someone scrubbing your leg with a needle on every step, had to mutilate the trousers by cutting the Velcro pad out whilst in work just to get through the 1st dayso, so, so disappointed this has made me give up on scruffsyou had a good model in the trade trousers and you have ruined your reputation with the next 2 generationsi give up on you

Awesome trousers for work, will buy more!!
Smart strong and look good. Makes me look like a real tradesman without knowing anything.I wipe a bit of paint and silicone on the legs so it makes them look authentic, pencil behind the ear and goto the pub and talk about wood and stuff. Locals are convinced. The trousers are rip stop, they are comfortable and have loads of pockets. Personally fold the outer Dumbo ear pockets inside as they flat about. Will buy another pair.

Far better than SITE and others
I have been a tradesman for years - multi professions so I am often on my knees, up ladders, plumbing in tight spaces, carrying tons of tools in pockets etc and have gone through maybe 30 pairs of trousers. These are by far the best. I am 6' and a 38 regular waist. The waist is a bit bigger than Site or DeWalt and I find a little looser around my legs and crotch. The holster pockets are the only ones big enough I have found I can get my hands into, the knee pads are in the absolutely right place for my knees and the general quality is superb. I have had them on every day almost for 3 months now and they are still in great shape after brickwork, electrical, plumbing, heavy carpentry and more. will keep buying and won't get SITE again. The only annoyance is that a sean on the inside of the of the trouser leg rubs against my shin and I had little grazed area until I got very long socks!

Well designed and durable but 'short' leg length is notably longer than expected and will almost certainly need shortening.
This purchase was the direct result of observing a local electrician at work and the trousers seemed both attractive to look at and practical as working clothing. The electrician confirmed that they lasted about one year of hard use and were a regular purchase which he considered very good value. My own use for such trousers is to do with photography which frequently requires kneeling to get suitable angles. This can be on poor as well as wet surfaces. Normal jeans rapidly get baggy around the knees and lose their colour and are simply not hard wearing enough for this purpose. The Scruffs as bought are described as 30 inch waist and short leg. That would normally mean 29 inch inner leg. These were nearer to 30.5 inches in length which would not normally be described as short. Fortunately this was soon rectified by my wife by her machining the leg up by the amount of the reinforced bottom of the leg which was folded under before sewing. (5 minutes). They now fit perfectly and there is no external evidence of the adjustment. The waist is also on the generous size - more like 31 inches but it was the leg length that was the main problem. Fortunately the reinforced knee kneeling pads are still perfectly positioned when kneeling down.In every other respect these are well made with secure seams that will sustain heavy use. The generous range of storage pockets of many shapes and sizes are imaginative in design and position and seem likely to be fit for most, if not all, purposes. The 35% cotton and 65% polyester trouser material is both hardy and with enough breathability to offer hard wearing with control over over-heating when working.Apart from the leg length problem, mentioned by several other reviewers regardless of waist measurements bought, these represent excellent value and would certainly be bought again when and if they ever wear out. The leg length problem will certainly need reducing as described above if the purchaser is expecting a normal short leg length. Hand sewing would be difficult because of the tough material so a sewing machine is more suitable as well as being neater, quicker and probably more durable.

For the money, best work trousers out there!
Excellent work trousers. They have made the flappy side pouches deeper now and stronger and I actually now prefer theses over my snickers my only gripe is the bottom loading knee pad pockets. Although at least there is now 2 velcro patches instead of one like before so the chances of the knee pads falling out like previous scruffs is a lot slimmer. Overall best valve for money work trousers I have purchased.
